Moving & Stretching better WITHOUT Breaking my Neck or having to REDO floors! Feeling rooted in the practice with the yoga ROOT BOARD! Finally feeling grounded on carpet! **SAFELY GROUNDED YOGA POSES! *Finally NO SLIPPING with the Root Board on my yoga mat! I’m able to do backbends and headstands without the mat moving going into or out of the poses! On carpet (without the Root Board)I can get up into the back bend, but while coming down the mat would slip under my hands. So many times I would worry about injuring my neck and wrists because I have slipped and my neck hurt for a while. *One armed side planks are so much easier and enjoyable due to the stability on the Root Board. It’s a lot easier to lift a leg or grab a toe too! When on only my feet and hands slide and I’m clearly am not grounded and safe. * For STRETCHING the FEET and surprisingly the back I use a really big exercise ball to squat down and lean forward on.The pressure from the ball and spending time taking deep breaths is relieving ( I took a picture for a visual). On the Root Board I get a deeper stretch, I’m able to calm my nervous system, focus on my body and breathe because I don’t slip or fall down. Without the Root Board on the carpet, the feet slide as well as the exercise ball making it so I slip or fall. *For the inversion bench, which I don’t actually use for practicing inversions, more for putting pressure on the shoulders to loosen them up and stretching the legs. With the inversion bench I like to flip over into a backbend with the RootBoard. Making sure the middle part of the Root Board was not going to receive the full impact when I come down. It just makes sense not to put as much pressure on the part of the board that comes together. It worked well because my feet were not sliding on the landing. On carpet the mat would have bunched up and caused instability. *IDEAL board for STORING and MOVING around! My couch is pretty long and storing the Root Board is easy to put underneath. I need to make sure I take my mat off each time so the board can breathe. The Root Board Bag fits the boards in easily, there is no shoving to force the boards in. Each board is about 28 lbs. , so 56lbs. together. When I want to move around to different places I actually glad the root board is not any bigger or heavier than it is. I’m able to carry it pretty easily. And of course the weight of the board really makes it stable so I think the creators put a lot of thought into making this exact size. *CARPET does NOT bring STABILITY to a yoga practice. We purchased a home that is mostly carpet and it costs thousands of dollars put hardwood floors down, out carpet is new and looks good. Also there are other things around the house that need to be taken care of. Being on my mat that's on carpet, it moves with every pose and needing to adjust it for each foot that goes back and hand that goes down it's not safe. Also the Root Board Cost way less than redoing the floors. It's a win - win. Read more
My Root Board arrived today and I couldn't be happier. It was excellently packed to prevent possible damage. I like the craftsmanship and the weight - great for stability but not too much for carrying it around. Love that it can be easily assembled - two parts fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, and because there are opening cut into the side, it is easy to pick the board up and move to another place. The packaged included a cloth for cleaning and a wonderful note from the seller centered on the mission of yoga which I highly appreciate. I immediately gave it a try and it makes a huge difference for doing asanas on the carpeted floor. Very pleased with my purchase. Thank you very much. Read more
It's really strange how much the root board changed how I experience yoga on my carpeted floor. I knew that practicing was more difficult and I didn’t feel the same utter relief in Shavasana. I think it was because I had trouble hitting and holding my poses and this product proved me right. Just stepping on to it with my bare feet I already knew it was going to be awesome. I guess it's the feedback my feet receive from the bamboo. It's solid like a studio floor. and then there is the grip it provides to my mat. When my mat was directly on the carpet my feet and hands would push away while I was in down dog. With the rootboard they're stationary. The mat is held in place by the bamboo. It's just a game changer in all ways. Two poses that I can hit so much better are Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon) and Vasisthasana (Side Plank). The hardness of the Root Board under my mat allows me to hold the poses easier and reduces the pain in my wrists. It’s packaged really nicely with a note from the founders. I can see they are all in on the sustainability piece because it is almost all compostable materials. It’s not light but it is easy to move around and slide under my bed. It’s not cheap either, but for how much it changed my practice, it’s worth the investment to me. Read more
I like the flexibility and portability of this board. It works great on carpet. I have a low pile carpet and a super soft padding. It takes a little getting used to the hinge point on the carpet padding. Overall, great and it's so much better doing yoga on this board as opposed to carpet. Read more
I moved from a home with hardwood floors to a home with wall-to-wall carpeting. I needed a solution in order to do my practice without the dreaded ‘float’ and instability of a yoga mat on carpet. The Root Board is fabulous! It is long enough to accommodate my long Manduka mat and the bamboo even creaks a bit like a real wood floor (expected by manufacturer)! There are handles on the side of each piece so you can easily carry it or slide it across carpeting. It’s not terribly heavy. Personally, I have my Root Board and mat permanently laying down in my new practice space, so I can come to my mat everyday. Thank you Root Board! Read more
Unbelievably creaky, especially at the joint between the two planks. It is, I suppose, like practicing on a wood floor, but imagine an old, creaky wood floor with a questionable plank in the middle. That said, this is the only thing I've found that makes yoga on carpet possible, so I just try to avoid the center whenever possible. Read more
This bamboo flooring is a game changer for me. Since I now practice yoga at home it has been a little difficult doing it with my mat on berber carpet and this makes it like practicing in a studio. It come in 2 pieces with 2 clips to on the outside to hold the floor together securely. I was hesitant to purchase this but I am so happy I did, I just wish I had done it sooner. Read more
