I used this 3 times to blend a smoothie of kale, banana, mango, protien powder, and water. It worked ok the first few times, taking a lot of effort but getting the job done. Now the spinning cog is totally ruined and the machine is unuseable. It makes me really annoyed that this company would design a motor and waste all the materials to make this product with a plastic cog expected to blend frozen items. Theres no way this thing would last 3 months of use, and im lucky it hardly lasted a week so I can still return it. The other blender I own I used well over 1000 times before it had similar issues! This is unacceptable cheap crap designed to fail. It should be illegal to sell products designed this poorly. Read more

We are on our 2nd one, we use it daily. Great strong motor chops up the ice well and makes smoothies super quick. Rinse and repeat. Love the brand, small footprint on the counter top. Worth the money, we tried cheaper one as we’re super dissatisfied..some iron from the bottom and can make a huge mess, others motors will smoke before your smoothies done..No issues here! Read more

Update: We had this for 2.5 months before it stopped working. Started it up one morning and it made an awful sound and we could smell rubber burning. I contacted Oster directly and I will say their Customer Service is fantastic. Already sending me a replacement (a different model). _____ I wish I could give this 4.5 stars, but because I love this product so much, I went with 5. We've had an older version of the MyBlend for probably 10 years and we loved it until it finally gave up the ghost (in the machine). I wanted to try this one, because I trust the brand. It's just as good, but with a stronger motor, so it blends even faster/better. I like that you can now click the bottle into place and use the button on the front to blend as much as you want. The older version would start blending as soon as you secured the bottle. The bottle and blade don't leak and are easy to clean. This is a very lightweight blender. It is also pretty child safe in my opinion. It's exactly what we need, apart from one thing. This thing is LOUD. We have to warn each other when we are about to turn it on so that no-one has a mild heart attack. If you don't mind that, it's a really good product. Read more

For some reason, I previously thought it was a good idea to spend less money and get a battery operated product like the one in the 2nd picture. After going through two of those costing around $20 each in two years, I realized I was wasting my money. They are cheap, flimsy, with tiny motors that lock up with thick peanut butter. I finally decided to get a real machine, with a cord, and a serious motor. This Oster (1st picture), is just a smaller version of my big blender. I think I could put rocks in it and they would turn into dust. It’s the difference between a 49 Volkswagen, and a hemi-powered ram truck. If you want a sturdy, reliable machine, that will last a long time, spend a little extra and get this Oster! Read more

It worked great until it didn’t. The good points are that it has a powerful motor and it is a good size for a quick smoothie and doesn’t take up too much cabinet space. However, the connection between the motor and the cutter is a 4 pronged hard rubber clutch. If the motor stalls on something like a piece of ice the motor starts to give off ominous smells and on one occasion (the last) the motor sheared off the hard rubber prongs on the cutter assembly. Unlike other Oster models, the base cannot be disassembled to replace the blade assembly. Beware that the only replacement part that came close was a 3rd party cup and blade assembly for MyBlend but NOT the MyBlend plus. Unfortunately, I’m not the only one who had this same problem. Others have posted pictures of the destitution if you don’t believe me and they couldn’t find a replacement either. Fortunately, I have a Vitamix for which you can get a 32 oz cup for smaller smoothies. Rather than another paper weight, it’s in the trash. Read more
