I ordered my Mega 5 in July 2025. I've used it for a bit now, I'm very happy with my purchase. With the help of Ms Vania at Oupes I chose the Mega 5 and got a great deal on it. It will become my home backup power source. I chose this 'SoGen' after sooo much research of not only Oupes but also Jackery, EcoFlow, Bluetti, Anker, Pecron and Dabbsson. I believe Oupes builds quality products at very competitive pricing. It also appears to me that they listen to their customers wants & wishes, that's refreshing. In addition they have a "give back" program, if I understand it correctly, to benefit those who maybe can't afford backup power, that's awesome! Vania, while I was down awhile, kept in touch, patiently working with me for over a year. If you have a question about an Oupes product, contact her, she has excellent product knowledge. You'll find out quickly, when you have an issue, they provide fantastic Customer Service. Remember to follow the charge/discharge instructions when you first get your SoGen. Also, don't forget to register the unit as it adds another year to your warranty! I chose the Mega 5 over the Mega 3 simply because I wanted the extra battery capacity. As I'm a bit older (71), I won't be moving 100+ lbs anywhere. In the 4 months I've had it I've maneuvering my Oupes units around my 5th wheel remodel. The extension handle is sturdy, a big help. The Mega 5 isn't ready for it's final resting place, ironically, the finished remodel will probably be mine :) I'll try to update as work progresses, showing my electrician's handywork. I plan on using a 3-way ATS for the Grid, Mega 5 SoGen, and a dual fuel generator for sources of power. I love the five well spaced (other mfgs should take note) 120V plugs, TT-30 outlet, 12V cigar lighter and a 30A Anderson Power Pole. My Mega 5 also has 1 USB-A, 3 USB-A QC and 2 USB-C PDs (huh? I was hoping for the new 140W USB-Cs), and a couple of barrel plug 12V outlets, all on the face of the unit. Make sure you turn off the AC outlets if not in use as the inverter draws a certain amount of power. That 4000W inverter is plenty for my little home. I will be adding a battery bank for extra power storage. The Oupes Mega 5 is scalable to 45kWh, that's huge! Charging can come from solar, grid, EV, or generator (individual or combo) for a max 3900W. Finally, I rather enjoy telling people I have an EV charging port-who cares if it's practical-I've got an EV charger (kinda)!!! Where I live we have natural disasters like floods, 60+ mph winds, and forest fires. If that isn't enough, we contend with the California Electrical Grid, yikes. Are you ready?? Read more

My Oupes, Mega 5 solar generator exceeded my expectations. It is easy to use; set up time is 20 minutes once you know what you are doing. Oupes Customer Service is been VERY efficient. A very useful extra is that when you have ONE item (say a freezer or electric heater) plugged into the generator, you can see the second-by-second power draw. I bought my first unit to power my workshop in my basement. It was cheaper than having an electrician install new circuits and I can easily take my tools outside on nice days to work. It worked so well, I bought a second unit to power all my office/computer equipment. The units are quiet and store more than enough power to last for hours! Read more
