I'm updating this review and changing it to 5 stars as the replacement kettle works wonderfully well, and it's the exact same one as the very first one I bought about 6 years ago! That one lasted 6 years before it finally stopped working. So if you want a great kettle that's a good size and aesthetically pleasing, and comes in beautiful colors, I highly recommend this one! -------------- I had this same kettle for 6 years and it worked great, so recently when it finally died, I decided to purchase the same kettle again. The first one arrived in box that had seen better days and it was obvious that it had been opened and used by someone. So I returned it to Amazon. I still liked the kettle so much (the original one that I had for 6 years) that I decided to give it another try and purchased the same kettle again. This one looked great, nice and shiny and brand new, but the lid at the top of the kettle did not work well, so I returned that one. Once again I decided to purchase the same kettle again (third time's a charm right?) and it's scheduled to arrive tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. I'm giving it 3 stars because of all the issues I had but I will try once more because the first kettle was just so wonderful! If it works out well this time, I will update my review. Loves this tea kettle. Switched from stove top kettle and this is more convenient. Sometimes I don't realize it has boiled and turned itself off as it has no whistle. Which I was uncertain about but the high pitched whistle of the other kettle was very annoying. This one boils quicker so if I missed tge turn off, I just turn it on again and it warms back up quickly. Read more

Hot water fast. Excellent quality for price point when I purchased it. The price has since increased (doubled) and I don't feel it's as good a value for your bucks. I wish the lid opened a little more and I wish the spout filter was more durable. Overall, this kettle is easy to use and I would have given it 5 stars had the filter remained intact. Read more

I got this for my mom who has dementia. I loved all the color choices and picked this tree frog green because it's her favorite color. I like this kettle for her because it doesn't get hot to the touch on the outside like the one at my work does and it shuts off automatically, so if she forgets about it, we didn't have to worry about her burning the house down. It brings the water to a boil really quickly. The only possible issue is that it won't be as sturdy as the metal electric kettle at work, but we haven't had it long enough to judge that yet. It works. I rarely fill it to capacity. For after capacity it takes about 5 minutes to boil for a full load it's about 10. For me that's very acceptable. I bought this for winter drinks and the occasional Instant noodles. This is perfect for that. The instant shut off is perfect. It will bring water to a boil, let a boil for about 5 seconds and shut off. So you don't have to stand there and watch it and you can just let it do its thing while you're doing other things. Exceptional electric kettle for the two of us! (I ended up accidentally —tipping the carafe of our last electric kettle glass everywhere) —So from now on it’s metal or plastic. I bought this for work and so far it works well. It is slower to heat up than the one I have already at home. I work in construction and didn't want to buy a more expensive electric kettle since it could get damaged at work. The water temperature is perfect for my pour over for coffee. The water capacity is on par with my kettle at home and works perfect for me, it holds enough water to make about 3 decent size cups of coffee. The quality seems decent for the price. It is made of plastic (not stainless) and feels a little cheap, but it works. it does light up when you turn it on so there is no doubt it is on. If you want one that feels a little more substantial spend a little more money and get one that is not plastic. Read more
