This is almost but not quite as good as the fancy 'mechanical keyboards'. The keys depress a significant distance, and produce an audible sound at each keypress, but quieter than the 'clack' of a full mechanical keyboard. A nice compromise between wanting sensory feedback and not wanting to make a racket. It has the full keyboard, with arrow keys, number pad, two each of shift, ctrl, and alt, and so on. This is remarkably important -- I tried an otherwise nice mechanical keyboard from a competitor, but gave it up because it squeezed in the arrow keys awkwardly and only had one ctrl key, and this was too much re-learning for my fingers to want to do. The num lock and caps lock keys illuminate lights on the keyboard. The 'keyboard lock' function is supposed to illuminate a third light but doesn't: if you turn this on accidentally (Fn+F11), you'll think your keyboard is dead and frantically reboot or unplug/replug the keyboard. I bought this for my home computer- it's original keyboard has keys that didn't work and my original keyboard is a few years old. I love this style keyboard! I'm still getting used to the way the keys are set up, but love the sounds of the buttons when they are pressed.
