After 4 years it still looks great and does what it's supposed to do.

mastacioJanuary 25, 2015✓ Verified purchase

After 4 years of usage, still works and looks great! It keeps my sponge always within reach and allows it to drip dry into the sink. It surprisingly holds well to my brushed stainless steel sink if you wet the suction cup first before pressing to the surface. The suction cup is removable to make cleaning of the holder easier. Doesn't require much maintenance. I cleaned the holder for the second or third time since owning it and it washed clean. There is no noticeable corrosion or rust visible after 4 years. The finish is a little banged up after all this time from pots and pans hitting it, but because the finish of the holder is brushed it goes with the look and is not unpleasant. The only issue I have with it is that it sometimes rotates too easily where it mounts with the suction cup. If it tilts over enough the sponge falls out. You just have to be a little more deliberate when you place the sponge into the holder. Read more

Love this stupid little thing!!!

Big MoeMay 25, 2013✓ Verified purchase

So simple, but yet so good! Used to just throw the sponge behind the faucet knobs and call it a day, until I got sick of dirty mess. An added bonus is that the sponges dry out faster and seem to stay cleaner longer. The thing is definitely smaller than expected, but that ended up being a good thing. The sponge does stick out on each end which makes grabbing the sponge easier. By no means is the holder too small though. Never have I had the sponge fall out. the only thing I had to train myself to do is watch out for it when I'm cleaning pots and pans. If you give it a direct hit, it will fall off or slide down, but a quick wipe of the suction cup, and bam, back on the side of the sink. I have an old stainless steel sink that dates back from the 80's and this thing sticks to it like a leech. Not sure why others have issues with it sticking. Maybe the finish on their sinks is coarser? One thing to keep in mind though, like all suction based items, you have to periodically clean the sink & suction cup otherwise film builds up on it and the suction decreases. I'm talking once every other month though....if that. ***UPDATE: Two years later and this little gem is still sticking nicely to the side of my kitchen sink. The only upkeep I have done is to remove it every few months to wash it out, wash the back of the suction cup, and wash the sink wall where it resides. This will keep it sticking like a champ. Modern and Good Quality, Suction can be Improved. And Also NOT Dishwasher Safe

Charlie BrownJanuary 16, 2015✓ Verified purchase

I purchased this holder a few years ago, and it lasted for than long until someone (won't say names or point fingers) put it on the dishwasher and the aluminium got stained and looked terrible, any aluminium you put on a dishwasher will end the same, not sure why the description says "dishwasher safe", it is not and also not needed. So I bought the same as a replacement, I really like this holder: 1- Aluminium is more resistant to mold and mildew than its plastic counterpart and, easier to clean. Had a plastic one before switching to metal and threw it away in disgust after a few months 2- Looks very nice on a modern kitchen, or better yet hard to notice hooked inside an stainless steel sink 3- Suction cup is decent, it will take some learning curve to attach it to the sink but the best way is to put water on the back of the suction cup and press hard for about 15-30 seconds against the sink wall 4- Holds a regular size sponge, even wet, without sliding 5- Suction cup is easy to remove for cleaning, by hand or by throwing it on the dishwasher (maybe this is the dishwasher safe part?) My only problem and why I knock one star down is that the suction cup can be better, it accumulates black mold stains that are very hard to remove, even on the dishwasher. And it suction power is not that great either. A silicone made suction cup will fix these issues. Also, not sure it can accommodate large sponges as the description says, and if they fit they'll make the holder slide when wet as some has stated in other reviews Read more

Perfect sponge holder for a stainless steel sink

swthonestieJanuary 9, 2012✓ Verified purchase

Love this sponge holder! It has clean lines so it doesn't look cheap on your sink. It's made of anodized aluminum so it's guaranteed to be rust-proof, unlike those that are made from cheap quality stainless steel. Although it's made of aluminum it looks like stainless steel as well as blends into my stainless steel sink perfectly. It has one suction cup on it but since it's made of good quality rubber it suctions onto the sink quite well. Also, the suction cup is almost as big as the sponge holder, therefore, making the sponge holder very stable. What I did before I placed the sponge holder onto the sink was clean the sink area first, dried it, and then dabbed just a little bit of water onto the suction cup before placing it onto the sink. No problems with it falling, rusting, or tilting so far. Read more

Not Functional design

Leopoldo O.February 5, 2026✓ Verified purchase

This sponge holder is very nice, nice finish and good material, but having only one suction cup makes it very unstable and the sponge falls almost every time. It need 2 suction cups or a lock on the base, so it does not swivel on the base. Read more

Sponges hate it!

Euge and JulesJanuary 13, 2026✓ Verified purchase

I have a love-hate relationship with this thing. It’s not maintenance free. If you plan on checking your sponge into the sponge holder and having it stay in there, you should look elsewhere. Eventually, the suction will get weak, and the sponge holder will tilt at that point putting a sponge in there will make it fall right out. You don’t even have to roughly put the sponge in. If you even softly place it in there’s a good chance it’ll fall right out. And the sponge holder will keep tilting left and right until you take it off and clean the suction cup and replace it. That being said, I do like the clean aluminum holder. It looks nice and the suction is strong to begin with. If this thing had two suction cups, it would be more stable and less annoying. If you had one of those double sinks you might be able to tie two of these together and have them in the middle of your sink like a saddle. Or maybe you can jam up the hole with something to make it stop rotating around the suction cup. See picture; I actually carefully placing the sponge in and BOOP it pops out. I think mine is cursed.
