The minute I put this brace on, my thumb and wrist started to cry with joy--everything wrong with my thumb and wrist felt so much better, and the brace is comfortable!!! I've tried so many, and had to make do with okay. Finally, a brace that REALLY makes the pain ease. Many joints in my hand, especially wrist to thumb, have been destroyed by arthritis. Tendons and ligaments are upset for other reasons. This brace makes EVERYTHING feel relief. I would have paid more for this!!! I already thought I was paying sortof a high price, but wearing it changed my mind. I will probably order another for when this one is air drying after a careful hand washing. It is comfortable and worth the price!!! It immediately looked like a quality product, and the performance bears it out. The stitching is good, the brace is sturdy. It is thick, because there is padding in all the places that would start to get sore if the padding wasn't there. Just the right amount of padding, too. It is washable. Now, that will be the tricky part, as one stay, the wide one that goes from wrist to palm, has to be removed before washing, and it puts up a fight to come out of it's place. There are three other plastic stays I can't figure out how to get out. Correction: 2 seem sewn in, so they are staying in. There is another plastic one that stiffens the whole thumb area, but it can be removed by opening a velcro, er, thingie. Then wash in nothing above warm water. I'm going for lukewarm and probably Dawn -- it won't need much! -- or supergentle soap that doesn't leave a residue behind. It will air dry as long as it takes. Try to get as much of the water out of it as you can to shorten the air-drying time. A word or two about the velcro: it isn't excessive, but it's enough to do the job -- and it does a 5-star job!!! I think it will last as long as the brace does, I have no reservations when it comes to recommending this brace!!! ((And, no, the joint/tendon/thing art on the palm is just for advertising purposes. The brace doesn't come with that. I was a little worried about that.)) Now if we can just get them to make these in something other than black!!! I'd love a beige or gray or neon green or blue or red or...ANYTHING but the same old black. One more thing: If you have a worn out, thin sock, cut the foot off of it and wear the sock as a liner. You will increase the time between washings of the brace because the liner will be what gets washed. You can buy liners for these types of braces, but a sock will do just fine. Read more
Best wrist brace for karpel tunnel by far. I bought and used 5 different wrist braces and this is the best in keeping my wrist and hands stable, and minimal pain and at times, no pain when I'm using it and when I remove it. The design with the support for the thumb helped a lot. It's easy to use as well. i bought one for my left wrist just in case since I've been using my left hand- always on my computer daily. Good quality- material and assembling parts. Read more
This brace really helped to support my hand, wrist and thumb during an episode of De Quervain's tenosynovitis. Its numerous adjustments were crucial for maintaining comfort and support, while allowing some mobility of my fingers and left hand. The brace that I bought from the specialist's office at the hospital was uncomfortable and painful because it pressed on my outer wrist right at the affected tendon, which was inflamed and swollen, so that forced me to search for something better. I eventually required a steroid injection to calm the inflammation and allow normal function again, but the Oyakin brace with thumb support did help to relieve some of the pain because it kept my wrist from moving while I slept (before, I would often wake several times a night when I inadvertently moved my wrist) and it also allowed for some function of my hand during the day, while providing me with enough support to prevent me from injuring or inflaming the tendons further. I used it for about 7 weeks. It is made of a nice, soft material which didn't rub or chafe my skin, but I bought and used cotton stockinette underneath it, which I cut from the roll and changed every few days to prevent the brace from becoming too dirty (or smelly) inside. I also spot cleaned the outside as needed. It is very supportive and sturdy, with what seem to be very well-made fastenings and materials. I would 100% recommend this comfortable brace for wrist and thumb injuries. I found the price quite reasonable and I feel that I definitely got my money's worth of use from it. Read more

I bought this to help support my wrist because of my carpal tunnel. It doesn't allow for lots of movement, especially with the thumb, so it helps alleviate the pain in my wrist and fingers. It's easy to put on and take off. Highly recommend if you're looking for some pain relief and other wrist braces aren't doing the job. Read more
