These sleeves are sturdy and well constructed. The sewing, especially on the edges is very strong. The material itself does breathe if not covered up. They will accumulate water underneath gloves or a brace. I normally wear large gloves, and I found the fit of these sleeves to be a bit lacking. The thumb hole is too small for my thumb joint, causing the seam to dig into my skin as you see in the third picture. These sleeve itself, was not tight enough across my palm and wrist. With the smaller thumb hole, I thought the sleeve would also be tight giving it extra support. I have fairly normal large size hands, but the large size sleeve was either a little too big or a little too small. I have a thumb joint brace that came with a very thin compression skin. When comparing this sleeve to the compression skin, it is heavier, especially around the edges from the stitching. I did not find it comfortable to wear underneath my brace, but it would work well under a carpal tunnel wrist brace. If you want something a little thicker, or to give you a little bit of compression, these work well, hence the four stars. For compression, I wish the wrist and palm were tighter, and the thumb hole wider. Also, the edge stitching is too thick to be underneath my thumb brace. Read more
