I’m buying my second set after over 2 years of regular use, where only one end of 4 tore. They definitely feel different than cotton swabs, but work great once you get used to it. I agree that they’re not absorbent, so if that’s important to you, pass. However, my ears have never felt wet after using them, if that’s the application you’re using them for. The bumps grab onto wax and water. They’re super easy to clean—just run them under the faucet. Sooooo much more sustainable, minimalist, and cheaper than cotton swabs!!! I bought these to try and reduce waste overall in my home. The textured ones worked well for general ear cleaning, but the pointier ones for use with makeup didn't really work very well. They made of silicone and are not absorbent at all (which is fine for me most of the time) so they didn't work for cleaning up makeup mistakes. I did have success using them to blend my eyeliner and that worked great. The most important thing to me was that they were easy to clean. I just wash them with gentle soap in warm water and let them dry completely before putting them back in the case. I would recommend these reusable swabs to anyone wanting to reduce their waste, but not if they are depending on them to be absorbent or help with "erasing" makeup. Read more
I am someone who cleans their ears daily using q-tips. I wanted an earth friendly and plastic free alternative to the big box of q-tips I go through. I found these and I’m in love. I have not cleaned my ears in a week and pulled these suckers out as soon as they arrived. They are easy to wipe clean after use and really get that gunk out of your ears without the possibility of leaving cotton behind. I’m sold on these and will share with my other planet loving friends! The media could not be loaded. I love the earth but I use a lot of Qtips, so it is about time to change and create less waste from my end. Therefore I went ahead and bought this reusable one. It came with four Qtips and one lousy bamboo case! Here is my honest review that they are good for application but not for absorbency at all. For example, you can use them to apply cream or medicine to areas like inside of your nose, in-between the toes or any place that requires a tool! Or they can be useful when applying makeups for instance if you accidentally smeared your eyeliner or mascara that you need a tool to clean the corner of your eyes or under your eyes! However, trust me they won’t dry your ears after showers as they are made from silicone. Well the good thing is I have been using a lot of less regular Qtips since owning them. Lastly I have a big compliant, which is the bamboo case, it is a terrible design, the case doesn’t close at all, the Qtips fall out everywhere all the time without any effort, and guess what one time they fell into the toilet ugh! I love this little set! I use these to clean my ears, so I don't use the smooth ones very often. The ones with the nubs on them are wonderful! They feel so good in the ear, are great at scratching an itch and clean well. Since these are silicone, they won't dry your ear, so keep that in mind. I just use a little square of tp to dry my ears after getting out of the shower and then follow up with one of these nubby swabs to get them squeaky clean. They are very easy to clean as well. The top came off when I was cleaning my ear and I had to go to Urgent Care to have it removed! The tops are very easy to remove, therefore, VERY easy to get stuck in ear! Do not buy! Read more
