When I was growing up in the '60s & '70s, all we had were cheap plastic versions of this to hold paper towels. I eventually switched to those awful counter-hogs, & used those for decades. Ugh. I was so happy to come across this one! It's super sturdy, easy installation, easy removal. I changed my mind after the first installation. No worries! My plastic one broke, which I had actually for 5 yrs. I figured I'd get one made of metal. I had no problem using the screws and fastened it under my kitchen cupboards for quick use. I installed this under-cabinet paper towel holder in my kitchen about six months ago, and it’s been a great upgrade. Installation with the included screws was quick and easy, and it’s stayed firmly in place ever since. The holder is very secure—paper towels don’t unravel on their own, and it’s easy to pull and tear off just what you need, even one-handed. The stainless steel finish still looks brand new, and the minimal design blends right in with my kitchen without calling attention to itself. It also frees up valuable counter space, which was exactly what I was looking for. The only small downside is that it’s a tight fit when loading a new roll, which can be a bit tricky at times. This roll holder is a mixed bag. PROS -It is relatively sturdy -The finish seems to be good quality at this early point, though this requires time to assess properly, and I've only had it a week. -The double sided tape seems at this early point to be very effective. Again time will tell if it holds up or not. -The price was good CONS -I'm not sure how universal paper towel rolls are, but Brawny barely fits (see pic.) Once its crammed in, it takes both hands to pull a sheet out or it will tear. If it were a mere 2mm wider between the arms it would fit fine. I havent tried it with other brands, but if you are a Costco shopper and Brawny's your go-to, beware. IMO it would be better to stamp it slightly wider to accomodate bigger rolls, because the end user can simply bend them in to accomodate smaller ones without issue. If it is too small as is the case here, nothing can be done. Regretably, I'll have to swap this one out very soon. Read more
