Game changer! I’ve been using this ShoulderBell regularly for shoulder workouts, and the design really does make a noticeable difference. It’s much easier to hold than traditional kettlebell style weights, which helps me keep proper form and focus on isolating my shoulder muscles instead of fighting the grip or bulk. Because of the open design exercises feel more controlled - I’m already feeling better activation and soreness in the right places after just a few days of use. The rubber coating is also a big plus. It’s easier on the skin and avoids that cold metal shock you get with regular kettlebells. Pros: • Easier to hold than traditional kettlebells • Helps isolate shoulder muscles more effectively • Makes it easier to keep proper form • Rubber coating is comfortable and skin friendly • Feels effective even with lighter weight Cons: • Slight learning curve - takes a workout or two to get used to the wrist based feeling Overall, a great addition for more effective shoulder work that's more controlled than traditional weights. If you are not familiar with Amazon Vine, it is basically Amazon trading free* products for honest reviews. You see a lot of Vine reviews that are cookie cutter and based on templates. I aim to make my reviews honest and non-cookie cutter (other than this intro and disclaimer). * These items are not actually free as Vine members pay income tax on the items they receive. Therefore, I will never order something from Vine unless I actually intend to use it. I think this is important for readers to understand because it means I will never order an item just to provide a fake five star review to a company. If I review something as good, it means I actually enjoyed using it or it fills its intended purpose correctly. Items that don't meet my expectations will be reviewed accordingly. Why I ordered this item: I'm working out again after a series of bad injuries over the past eight years. I feel like I'm regaining my life, but weights are one thing I have avoided. I wanted to start with something ergonomic so I ordered these. Likes: * The design on these is really smart. I can't believe no one has made weights like this before. Having a hole in the middle to keep your wrists inline with weights is a genius move. * These are incredibly versatile and can used for many different movements. One of my injuries was to my rotator cuff, so I'm starting small and just doing shoulder presses with these. I can only do a few (at the advice of my physical therapist) but I already feel my shoulders strengthening and it feels awesome. Once I start getting more confidence I plan to add other strengthening exercises to my routine. * The coating on the grips is awesome and feels extremely comfortable. No likes: * The part I can't really swallow on these is the price. For $180 I could get a complete set of adjustable dumbbells plus a set of 13lb kettle bells. Would I pay full price for this product: I'm not sure yet; I need more time with them Final thoughts: I realize these are kind of a luxury item. They are very intelligently designed and well-executed. However, they are really not all that complex and the asking price does not really compute with me. Even at $100 I think I would give these five stars, but at $180 they are just too much. Read more
The shoulder bell holds the similar design of a standard kettlebell. Only with an open hole through the center. This has offered a great indoor exercise option over the past few weeks. 13lb for each shoulder bell to offer a uniform workout experience. These are in my indoor workout area and compact enough to not take up too much space. The do sit comfortably on a dumbbell rack as well. The workout they offer is great and has shown effective results. The only downside is the price. These are pricey. But if your serious about your fitness goals they are worth it. Read more
This shoulder isolating set of 13 lb dumbells works great!!! When you hold kettlebells or dumbbells, the weight is putting pressure on the hands and wrists. With this set you slide your arm into each one and the weight rests at the forearm. Due to that positioning, the focus of the weight becomes the shoulder muscles! A great shift that works! You also feel much more control over the weights because they aren't hsnging off your body like a kettlebell. There is a lot of exercise variation available with this set! Very well made, very well designed, comfortable and effective. Highly recommend! Read more
These shoulder bells are awesome. I keep them in my room so I see them every day and it reminds me to use them. The quality is very high and they feel solid and well made. Even with lighter weight, they really activate the shoulders, especially front, side, and rear delts. You can also use them for full body moves like squats, swings, chest, and arm workouts. Easy to use and great for staying consistent. Read more
This fixes the problem I've always had with dumbbells and that is that they were never ergonomic to do a shoulder press with compared to a regular weight. Even my husband who has bulkier forearms was able to easily slide his hand through the slot and do presses. The weights themselves are true to the advertised size, the material on the exterior is a nice rubber that is easy to clean if needed and has held up to my dog scratched to get her ball she dropped inside so it won't scratch or tear easily. The weights have a flattened side so they nestle closely together to save space. Come with wrist sweat guards as a bonus. Read more
