If you are looking for an insulated tumbler, then look no further! I have loved the Dia de los Muertos sugar skull motif for many years and when I saw this tumbler, I couldn’t hit “add to cart” fast enough. When the tumbler arrived, I was thrilled. It is absolutely beautiful. As other reviewers have noted, the adhered design is flawlessly applied, and the black background is dark and glossy. The lid has a thick silicone gasket which provides a tight seal. And the double walled insulation is amazing. I brewed coffee into the tumbler, sealed the lid and closed the sipping hole – the coffee stayed hot for several hours, and was still quite warm 12 hours after brewing. I did the same test for cold temperatures. I filled the tumbler with ice and sealed it up. Twelve hours later, there was still ice in the tumbler with minimal melting. Impressive results. Keep in mind, in both cases, the tumbler stayed sealed the entire time and was in a room that varied between 65-70 degrees. The product information on the Amazon website states the care instructions as “hand wash only, dishwasher safe.” A mixed message to say the least. As much as I dislike hand washing, I’m willing to make that sacrifice for this tumbler. I think I’d be wary of running this item through the dishwasher too many times because the constant exposure to high heat could possibly damage the design. I’d also stay away from an abrasive sponge to minimize potential damage to the design from frequent scrubbing. Why risk it? But don’t let that discourage you. This product does not feel delicate or fragile, it is sturdy and well-made. I’m just being cautious. This tumbler exceeded my expectations on all counts. It is beautiful. It is solidly constructed.
