My wife and daughter love to run and they are both loving these hats with flip down ear cover that surrounds the back of the head as well, hole for the pony tail in the back and great water resistance. I’m not sure why it is so hard to find a good functional hat like this for the ladies! Most hats are simple fleece exterior and interior and that may be good for warmth but not helpful with the rain or snow that melts and soaks into the hat. This hat keeps the water out! I'm thrilled to have earflaps as I have a very sensitive ear drum that ruptured several years ago and wind has bothered me ever since. The flaps tuck under your earlobe just a little bit, for a more secure fit. You can adjust the size like you would a regular baseball cap, but it still sits a little big on my head. It claims to be waterproof, but I haven't had an opportunity to test it in rain or snow yet. The fabric is soft on the inside and feels like a polyester jacket on the outside.
