Revising this review as I have used the case for a few months now. I have nothing negative to say, it is an outstanding case. Five stars. The case looks professional and secure. It feels good in the hand and has decent grip ability when manipulating the phone. Getting it on, you have to be careful. It has thin plastic pieces surrounding the newly implemented camera button on iPhone 16 and beyond. The structural integrity of this plastic is not in place until the hardness of your phone is behind it. Once the phone is in, I have no doubt the protection is there. When I bought the iPhone 16 Pro in Jan '25, I purchased the Otterbox Defender case for it along with a screen protector. Initially I liked the Otterbox Defender, but was concerned about the lack of protection at the screen side of the camera control. After a few months, I noticed that I had a crack, luckily only in the screen protector emanating from the area of the camera control. I figured that if I was going to replace the screen protector, I'd look for a new case that offered some protection around the camera control. While I would have liked a little more protection than this Pelican case offers, so far it seems adequate. I did prefer the Otterbox for ease of installation and removal with its 3 piece design. The Pelican is one piece and was difficult to install. I've not tried to remove it yet. Read more

Edit: less than a year later the case is cracking and literally losing pieces from a couple normal drops that my previous Pelican case shrugged off. Absolutely not worth the price. You could buy a far cheaper case and have better protection. E2: threw it away today. Fell apart, wouldn’t stay on the phone properly anymore. Spent far less on far better cases. Would not buy. I bought this case mistakenly assuming it was the same type as my old case from Pelican with the same features and quality. It certainly looked the same as my previous Shield Case at first glance, and was about the same price. Guess I should have looked closer. This case is much thinner, far less protective, and just not as well built. A thin plastic insert holds the phone whereas the other model was a secure two-piece hard shell with secure snaps. The old version has silicone non-slip edges top and bottom for grip, shock absorption, and keeping the phone from slipping. This case is semirigid plastic with very little “padding” for impact or slip resistance. Overall, for the price point I would absolutely suggest that there are better cases, and cheaper cases that will do the same or better job of protecting your expensive phone. This case is very durable and does not cause damage to your phone when dropped. The reason I give 4 stars is because the clip breaks easily. Only bought this case because of the clip and it broke within a week of using. Read more

So far so good. Impressed with quality. You do need to read instructions on how to install as it doesn’t just slide in. I have a 16 pro and the clip stays on and phone secure without any issues. I also have the Pelican MagSafe wallet that clips on and same top quality. It only holds about 2 cards and an ID with a couple bills but that’s all I need. I have dropped the case and picked back up without any issues. I trust the quality of Pelican and all their products. I’d highly recommend this and others. Read more

Improved and very light yet strong and secure for protection of my new IPhone. I had the one before this model and it had issues with the bottom and side rubber, but they have fixed that. It is totally flush and not bendy on the points. The back is smooth and works good for MagSafe wallet (also from Pelican) overall I’m totally happy with this case! Read more
