These Pentel twist-erase 0.7 pencils have become my favorite writing instrument, and here’s why. The polymer lead takes very little pressure to get legibility that is as clear as a ball pen. Adding more pressure gives an even darker legibility for emphasis that will not smear. Excellent! Plus they never have to be sharpened. Then there’s the polymer eraser. With very little effort, what you have written can be easily removed without removing the surface of the paper, like an ordinary pencil does. It’s truly amazing, even after using Pentel mechanical pencils for years. Re-labeling manila file folders, modifying checklists, or editing what you’ve written are fast and easy. I recently realized that you can use it for signing checks deposited with your bank app. Since this is the only writing instrument I carry, I rarely need a ball pen. Pencil lead HB, 0.7 is the perfect size. They also have a larger Pentel hi-polymer hand-held eraser that replaces my kneaded erasers. Bottom line, I am getting rid of all pencils, even the expensive ones. Although I have extra erasers, I have never had to replace one. Read more

I have never been more in love with a pencil. I own and use two of them. I'm so in love with it I bought a whole bunch and some small fold-flat cardboard containers and gave them away to friends. EVERYBODY has a pencil in their lives. Or should. And it should be this one. 0.7 lead rocks. It's thin enough to not look like a construction worker's measuring line, but wide enough to not break leads every time to write. Advancement (and retraction) of lead, eraser: fabulous. I've bought extra erasers and leads - gave those away as well. It became a nice little gift! Third parties offer leads as well. I am committed to THE SYSTEM based around this Pentel pencil. Love it.
