Am using these bulbs both inside and outside. I love the natural warm tone light that these bulbs produce. That's the perfect tone for living room accent lighting and welcoming front entry porch lighting as well. I had 2 initial concerns: - would the photo sensor would be affected by using this bulb in a domed outdoor fixture? No - - - I have these bulbs in two barn style outdoor light fixtures and they work perfectly. The fixtures are on ether side of our front entry porch which is recessed from the walkway and front of the house. I was concerned the recessed entry would be too dark and falsely trigger the bulbs to stay on 24/7. Not the case. They work perfectly and although I haven't actually been standing outside at the moment they go on, they must both go on/off in fairly synchronized timing because I have yet to notice a time that only one was on/off singularly. - my second concern was regarding the interior accent lights sensing the lights in the house as daylight and going on/off dependent on which house lights were on or off. Again, very pleased that these bulbs go on/off only being triggered by sunlight and not home lighting. Apparently they can sense the difference between light waves from sunlight and light waves from other light sources. Whatever the case, these work and are fantastic replacements for the plug in timers we used to use indoors, and the wall timer we had installed for the porch lights. Read more

I almost never write reviews, but this thing surprised me in a good way. I bought the four pack, put two of them in single bulb wall sconces about 10' from each other, worked perfectly as they should. A lot of light and it's nice warmish light. But what got me, I have a dual bulb "boob" fixture over my front door. It's got a frosted glass covering and the bulbs go in parrallel, but facing opposite directions. I thought surely these bulb's won't work because when it gets dark enough for one to turn on, the light from it will reflected against the frosted glass covering and make it so the other doesn't turn on. I tried it anyway, putting it in so the red dot part of the bulbs faced opposite directions, and by some magic it works perfectly. I've only had one bulb stay on and one dark once and that was the first night when I was flipping the switch and playing with them. Had them a little over a month and every night I can tell they're both on so somehow it works and it works consistently. This was such a simpler and cheaper option than trying to get a new photocell sensor fixture, so glad I tried it first. Those of you with dual or triple bulb fixtures that you want to cut on automatically at night, I can't guaruntee these will work, but they're definitely worth a shot. Read more

I can't believe that nobody else carries these bulbs. Phillips has been making quality LED bulbs for the last decade. I even have their early yellow plastic model that still works. These bulbs fit in normal edison sockets without issue and turn on/off reliably. They even work if you have others nearby. Case in point, I have a three light lamp post and these work perfectly without tripping each other up. My only possible concern is a deeper recess may cause the light to turn on early, such as after I changed my outside door lights. The one wish I had for these, was that they came in a cool white as well. I would like to have the bluer light, but there's nothing wrong with these automatic warm light LED bulbs. It's another set it and forget it device! Read more

Have only been using these bulbs for about two months, but they are working great. The light switch for the twin lights on my garage door is in the far corner of the garage (no clue - the previous owner built it that way and it is a royal pain) making it a chore to walk through the garage and around the cars to the switch. Installing these dusk to dawn lights lets me leave the switch on and not have to worry about wasting electricity during the day or having to go through the chore of manually turning on the lights when leaving the house, even in the daylight. I did play with them a bit to see if the location of the sensor made any difference and while it does, it is very minor. When fully tightened in the socket, one bulb has the sensor located near the back side, toward the garage. That light will turn on about 10 to 15 minutes before the other bulb, which has the sensor pointing straight out the front when the bulb is fully tightened. While this is meaningless overall, it did give me a scare the first day I used them. I camped out in the driveway with a lawn chair and a beer to see if they turned on at sunset. When one came on and the other one didn't I thought there was a problem like a defective sensor or bad bulb. While inspecting the one that was not on, it suddenly turned on and I realized what the issue was. Did some playing to verify it was just the sensor location - no big deal to me. I also like the softness of these lights. I had some bright white LEDs in the lights before and they were very harsh. While they were also bright, when pulling up at night, it sometimes was just too bright and harsh. These bulbs are less harsh on the eyes. I highly recommend these bulbs for the light color/brightness and the dusk-to-dawn sensors. Read more

These work really, really well. My street only has one light on it and I'd like for my porch to be light up nicely. I didn't want to leave the lights on all day but I didn't want to have to turn them on manually every night. I replaced my porch lights with these bulbs and they work great! My lights are mounted on the ceiling of my patio, but turn on right at dusk. The sensor doesn't swivel and its hard to screw the bulb in and have it face the correct way but it still works! They are pretty bright though. My two lights had a total of 4 bulbs in it and they are almost too bright. Read more
