End of the school year update: My daughter has used this backpack exclusively for the entire school year and I’m amazed at the quality and how well it has held up! Even with being light in color, we still haven’t had to wash it because of the outstanding waterproof fabric. I used to purchase the expensive name brand backpacks and they would never make it through the school year before they had holes or broken zippers. I bought this backpack for my 4 year old after buying the matching wallet. This backpack is well designed and can stand up to the use and abuse by a young child. The material is thick and durable. The zippers are easy for him to use. There is a lot of storage space, both inside and out. My son takes this backpack everywhere: to preschool, to playdates, and on outdoor adventures. We are a very active Alaskan family and we love that the backpack can store a water bladder and has a hole for the tubing at the top; no more stopping to grab the water bottle! As you can see in the picture, the backpack fits him perfectly, with the straps cinched to nearly the smallest length possible, so there's lots of room for him to grow and still be able to use it. I got this backpack for my 6 year old daughter and all 3 of her older siblings were jealous. That’s a win! The 6 year old collects and hoards all kinds of knick knacks throughout the day that she refuses to part with. The modular attachments are perfect for her to store her treasures and to detach from the backpack and transition into carrying pouches with the shoulder strap. We are a busy family with lots of after-school activities indoors and out and lugging around a big backpack isn’t always appropriate. The salmon details are more vibrant and beautiful in person.
