The media could not be loaded. I have been hearing lots of good things about this brand and eager to finally try them out. It seems like they have a couple different formulas that they are known for and this is one of the ones that seemed the most intriguing and useful to me. As well as one of the more unique formulas compared to some of the other preparatory products for cosmetic type procedures. I wanted a product that could be used before microblading as well as cosmetic corrective tattooing specifically. And this was at the top of my list of ones I wanted to try out because of all of the recent hype in the last couple of years with the brand and their unique and effective formulas that are still suitable for sensitive skin and won't break the bank. Thus far I have tested this with microblading and can report back that it performs incredibly well. It's got natural ingredients that help basically desensitize the skin as well as boost barrier capabilities to reduce irritation as well as pain during a procedure. There's instructions that come with this to explain just how many minutes prior to a procedure you should use this for maximum effect. I followed along and it worked much better than not having any product at all that's for sure. And I have grown tired with some of the more extreme pain and inflammation reducers which oftentimes are more potentially hazardous than they are useful. I definitely prefer to feel some of what my body is going through and the physical effect of what I am doing to it, because I feel like that helps me better gauge my approach, the depth I go, the angle of entry I am using, and how firm of a hand I should have and how many times to go back over an area before I have extended my recovery time too much in one sitting and would be best to break it apart and do multiple settings at that point. So my issue with some of these more medical grade formulas which fully numb an area and reduce your body's ability to send its own healing to that region, is that it's hard to tell what exactly is happening and when something has gone too far. I find that incredibly risky. So I much prefer this type of product. And I'm happy to report that it works exactly as described and seems to suit my needs perfectly. So for anyone who is like me and wants to just lower the immediate inflammation and irritation and pain response, without trying to cut it off completely if they are doing procedures on themselves, or working with a professional that they are uncertain about. This way you can still have enough sensitivity and bodily awareness too maintain your own comforts and safety, as well as be able to predict your long-term recovery time after the procedure. For me is incredibly important because I have a normal life and don't want to end up super swollen after a procedure, when I could just break the procedure down into two segments if needed. So I like being able to know when to quit, and this so far has let me know that. I did one round on both eyebrows on one day. Then just came back and did my second round on both eyebrows. And though I'm still in the recovery phase of the process and the intensity will fade with the microblading, I can already tell that my skin responded much better to this, and I felt much better using this and can definitely comfortably recommend it to others! I think the value is great, and the product is very thick and a little goes a long way. It also has a nice herbal smell to it, and not like a clinical doctor's office smell or anything like that. And it's not uncomfortable to put on, it doesn't feel like it's stinging at first or burning your eyes or anything weird. It's actually very similar in feel to a nice moisturizer but you can tell that it has some herbal boosts to it The offer a light tingle to numbing type effect which is exactly the balance I want to feel. This scent is a bit off putting. It does seem to work for numbing the skin. I can still feel slight pressure or pinch if being poked but definitely not as bad as it would be without this cream. It doesn’t irritate the skin and you can’t really even feel that it’s on while it’s sitting. The main con is that you have to use quite a thick layer to achieve the numbing and the bottle isn’t that large so you could go through a lot of this depending on the purpose for use. Also 30-45 minutes for the numbing to kick in is quite a long wait and can be hard to keep the cream in place for that long depending on the location of use. Otherwise great quality. I ordered the Painless Picasso Skin Prep Cream for my at-home laser hair removal treatments. The scent is herbal in nature which I like. It’s prominent but not overwhelming. This is a thicker cream that applies evenly and doesn't feel too heavy on the skin. I incorporated this into my prep routine by making sure the skin was clean and dry first. It’s easy to apply a generous even layer and it stayed put while I waited for it to work. The cream provides a refreshing, cooling feel right away. This soothing sensation is great before a procedure that involves discomfort, and I did not experience any irritation from using it. It also helps that it includes Tumeric which is beneficial for inflammation. This cream absolutely delivered on its core purpose...minimizing the snap of the laser. The comfort lasted for the hour long session I did. I can’t confirm if it lasts longer than that since I haven't tested it for a full 3 hours. While it's not completely painless, it certainly helps with numbing. The formula is made with carefully selected plant based ingredients which I appreciate. The brand focuses on simplicity and not filling the product with unnecessary additives. You do need to wipe the product off before beginning your treatment and after using this, I did not experience and dryness or irritation. The tube is average sized but a little does go a long way when you apply it just to the areas you’re treating. For the significant comfort it provides during an uncomfortable procedure, I feel this is a very worthwhile investment. I really like this cream as a thoughtful, plant-based prep option. My daughter recently used this before getting a tattoo and thought it did a great numbing job. She mentioned women (and men) use it, not only pre-tattoo, but also put it on their skin before waxing. In fact, it can be used almost anywhere on the skin before cosmetic procedures (but not open areas or sores, and not over large areas.) I decided to give it a try and am glad I did. This is a plant-based numbing cream. It doesn't have lidocaine, which if used in high enough doses needs a prescription. Too much absorbed lidocaine can slow the heart and cause arrythmias (I'm a medical professional so I'm familiar with it). I followed the instructions exactly, including putting plastic kitchen wrap over the area to help absorption. It had an acceptable pleasant smell. It worked very well to numb the discomfort of waxing, and lasted probably 2 1/2 hours. In comparison to lidocaine cream (which I have used several times before waxing), I believe the lidocaine may be slightly stronger. But each time I use lidocaine I always slightly worry in the back of my mind that if I use too much there may be side effects--possibly serious ones, not just a rash. Because there is no prescription component in Painless Picasso (i.e. lidocaine), it's better for my peace of mind. A definite recommend and I will continue to use it. Read more
