This cereal is delicious! I used to eat steel-cut oatmeal, but my doctor put me on a gluten-free diet. This is a wonderful substitution for my steel-cut oatmeal. In fact, I like this cereal better than steel-cut oatmeal. Like most people, I don't have a lot of time in the morning to cook breakfast during the week. So, I make a big pot of this cereal on the weekend and store the leftovers in the refrigerator. I add a little vanilla after the cereal has been cooked. Bourbon vanilla compliments this cereal well. I reheat the cereal in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. Then, I sprinkle on a little cinnamon and add a sliced banana. It fills me up. Also, this cereal is tasty plain. Read more

Don't let the name fool you. This is not related to wheat at all. You must try this if you have digestive problems of any sort. It does not have the taste of regular buckwheat. It is delicious. I can't eat corn and try to avoid 'enriched' foods but I loved grits. This is just as good and is a great replacement for grits. It goes great with eggs. It is also a great help if you rotate foods for allergy reasons. It is easy to digest and so is a food for anybody of any age. It even makes a great baby food. Has a nutty flavor. I have 7 kids and they all loved it, very filling. Not as smooth as cream of wheat which was what everyone liked. Extra good with almond milk 7 added raisins. Great for gluten free diets. Read more

This cereal is great! We cook it and throw in berries or apples and cinnamon and it is tasty. The boxes came with a recipe for buckwheat and cauliflower soup, which may not sound good, but it is delicious and filling. It's really a pretty versatile food. Better for you than oat meal or rice. This cereal makes a hearty and satisfying breakfast. In my opinion, it has a better flavor than plain old oatmeal and it's wheat and gluten free, which is a bonus for people who need to avoid wheat or gluten products or who are on a low-glycemic index diet such as South Beach. I like the versatility of the cereal - you can easily flavor it to be sweet like oatmeal or savory like grits and it's delicious either way. Also, I always try to eat organic when possible, so the fact that it's organic is an extra bonus! Read more

sometimes i eat this for dinner or for a snack. i love this grass....it is a grass you know! i like to add maple syrup. i have mixed it with oatmeal as well. on an energetic level, buckwheat is very warming. add a little cinnamon and it will be even more warming. good to eat when you have a "cold" or it is cold outside. this can be even like a pudding... adding a little "milk" of your choice for some of the water, make it a little creamier, cook it slower longer... and the maple syrup....it is the best! Product cooks up in 10 minutes per directions. Tastes great. If you liked cream of wheat as a kid, you'll love this. Bought at another retailer for a lot more. Had to buy a case, but at least I've got a years supply. Read more
