This is, surprisingly, an outstanding backpack. I thought it was going to be a little disappointing when I got it, but I’m happily been proven wrong. The backpack is a durable leather with solid space on the inside. On the front, the pockets are fantastic once you figure out how to use them for your purposes. (I have a combination of power cords, cards, and other daily items.) The straps are padded and comfortable. Likewise, the top handles are durable. I’ve had this back pack for about 4 months now and am very happy with the purchase. It can easily fit my work laptop, personal MacBook, and tablet along with some writing pads, a pencil case, and packs for lunch. The side pockets for two bottles holds my coffee and water bottle well. I do recommend this backpack. It’s very good for the money. Read more

This pack is great. This review is based on my needs and everyone has different uses for a backpack but from my perspective this is the best pack I've ever had, for the money of course. There are a lot of very nice packs on the market for $300 to $500 dollars so don't expect to get a free lunch. some people complained about the straps coming off and the company added rivets which is very rare for a company so points for them. If you are carrying heavy weight for miles and miles of rough trial this isn't the pack for you but for work and school it's perfect. Things I like about it: It stands up on it is own. Most packs fall over and I find this very convenient. It looks fantastic and is made of very nice leather, full grain but still pliable. The zippers move like butter, no sticking, and made of metal, not plastic. The pockets are perfect size and help organize things so that I don't have to go digging for my keys, wallet, change, aspirin, phone charger... It is light and comfortable, even loaded down I can throw one strap over my shoulder and it doesn't try to slip off. The padded vented back is very comfy. Some people complained that it isn't as sturdy as the old leather back model but if you are ripping this back you're doing something wrong. It's plenty strong and much more comfortable. It's perfect size, I don't like huge bags, especially while traveling, it's a fantastic carry-on. It smells awesome and, if you're a fashionista, goes well with everything but a tuxedo. Cons: the padding for the laptop pocket could be thicker but I don't carry my laptop so not a concern. The Velcro patches on the pockets could be larger/ stronger. But the straps add to security so, again, I don't think its an issue as long as you close the straps. I don't need two water bottle pockets and would have liked another zipper pocket instead of two bottle holders. I'm not part of this company, I've just been ripped off and disappointed with products so often I was shocked to get a quality pack and I'm giving credit where it's due. I've looked all over the web and you won't find a better bag in this price range. Read more

This is my first backpack from Polare, but my third bag along with a couple of wallets. The shoulder bag in the picture with backpack, I have been using daily for two years now showing no signs of wear. I do a lot walking while at work and this backpack frees up my hands especially climbing stairs. The padding on the back makes it very comfortable and surprising not hot at all on my back. The first bag I purchase is going on six years old and the leather has broken in well with conditioning it with Leather Honey Leather Conditioner. The zippers on this backpack are smooth and no need for wax or silicon. There are no buckles to break which I have had issues before on other bags. The front three pockets have a leather strap that keeps the flap secured with Velcro. The fourth pocket is zippered and holds a wireless mouse perfect. Has plenty of room in the main compartment for my tablet, day runner, large leather binder, and charging cords. Has smaller pockets for business cards, pins, etc. This bag stands up straight and doesn't fall over due to how wide the bottom is. Thats a pet peeve of mine. Very well-made full leather backpack at a great price with lots of completements. Read more

I needed a new backpack, as my old "book bag" style backpack was 6 years old, and very well-traveled in need of retirement. So for a replacement, I wanted a leather backpack that would hold up well and show a little character and patina as the bag aged. I originally looking at Shinola and other similar niche brand backpacks. And while their quality is excellent, their price point is above $750. I chose to at least search for a more cost-effective alternative. And I found it. I decided to give the Polare Cowhide Leather Backpack a try. And with a price point of < $150, I thought I would give it a shot. After all, it has a 1 year warranty and I would be able to return it if I didn't like it. When I received it, I was absolutely amazed at how well built, comfortable, and rugged this backpack actually is! It looks better in person than in the pictures, is very comfortable, and travels really well. And I have received a lot of compliments from people on the look and the styling. There is plenty of space inside, and it seems like there is a pocket for everything. Even with 2 laptops, there is still ample protection and still a great deal of room for notepads, legal documents, electronic equipment, etc. Only time will tell how well this backpack holds up, but to date, it's without a doubt the best $150 I have spent in a long time!
