I recently installed the Polk Audio DB522 DB+ Series 5-1/4" Coaxial Speakers in my 2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ front speakers, and they’ve absolutely transformed my audio experience! These speakers fit perfectly in the factory location with 3d printed adaptor, and installation was a breeze, taking about 30 minutes. The sound quality is outstanding—crisp highs, rich mids, and surprisingly punchy bass for their size, thanks to the 300W peak power and marine-certified design. Whether I’m blasting rock on the highway or hip-hop on off-road trails, the audio stays clear and distortion-free, even with the top down. The IP65 waterproof rating ensures they handle dust and splashes like champs, perfect for my rugged adventures. Durable, stylish, and phenomenal sound—highly recommend these Polk Audio speakers for any Jeep TJ owner looking to upgrade their sound system! Read more

Replacing PQN ECO 50 (5" Dia) Waterproof speakers on the exterior of a 2015 Lance 2295 Travel Trailer, which only has 1 1/8" speaker pocket depth. I added the DCO 1" Universal Spacers for 5.25" to 6" speakers, as listed by Amazon as frequently purchased together with these Polk speakers. These spacers' mounting holes matched the existing PQN Speaker holes on the side of the Lance travel trailer and the predrilled holes in the spacers matched the Polk speaker and grill holes perfectly. I used Gorilla Glue's clear silicon caulking during installation to seal the spacer and speaker assembly to the side of the Lance. The spacers and speakers installed easily and look good. If you use the PQN Speaker holes for mounting the spacer and predrilled spacer holes for mounting the speakers, the speaker grill will be slightly angled. If this bothers you then you'll have to drill new mounting holes. The speakers once turned on and letting warm up for a few minutes, provided sharp sound at midrange and above. The bass was also sharp, but just about what you would expect from a 5.25" speaker. Pretty good bass, but it is not the speakers' strong suit. Build quality is impressive especially when compared to the PQN speakers that are used by the manufacturer because the speakers use low wattage and are light weight. The Polk speakers have some weight, due to the good sized magnet. I'm happy with the upgrade and would recommend these speakers. Read more

The media could not be loaded. Nice sound. No distortion. Used on my RV with cheap stereo, still sounds good. They would probably sound even better if they were installed in a cabinet. Not a lot of bass in the camper. But not bad for being installed in a wall! I've had the out in the weather all summer, no issues. This is the second pair of Polk audio car speakers I've bought. I haven't been disappointed yet! Great product! Read more

The instructions recommend a crossover but the theaters are hard wired/soldered to the main speaker connections. I'm using them for my camper external speaker replacement. The sound quality is much better than the stock 3.25s and it was nice they added various fastener options. The instructions go into detail about crossovers/filters that were not provided. I would recommend as an upgrade to Heritage glen Stock 3.25s but beware they recommend crossovers for tweeters that aren't included as well as an amplifier that likely isn't necessary. Read more

Add these to my golf cart with a little amp and man wow they sound great. They are cross x over a little low and do give move quite a bit in the low mid range. I was very impressed. Looks great and can that the weather as well. Read more

Perfect fit in the doors of my Foxbody Mustang convertible, with no modification to the doors or door panels. These were paired with a set of 6.5 Polk coax speakers in the rear. While I didn't need them, the included speaker wire extensions and butt connectors are a nice touch and would come in handy if you're replacing an OEM factory-style speaker connector. I've used Polk speakers for years and have found them to be an excellent value with great sound quality. Read more

I really like the db521 and the MM series but this particular model lacks mid bass in a big way and the highs can be quite harsh at times. I guess I'm confused why the Db521 was discontinued on the first place. it had the ability tto sound great amplified or just off a head unit and it was a bang for the buck like no other. Unfortunately the Db522 series has poor efficiency in regards to midbass and was removed and returned. Polk you can do much better. Read more
