Up graded to these from the old window AC units. I got 2 for my house which is about 1200 square foot home and have 2 of them. It cools the house off pretty well and keeps it cool. They kick off automatically when the desired temp is reached and then kick back on when it gets above that temp. I have noticed a drop in my electric bill by using these compared to the old window units so that's a plus! They are about the same loudness as a window unit. It has 3 settings, cool, fan, and dehumidifier where you would need to drain the water out. They were easy to set up, that my teenager daughter set them up for me and it took her about 5 minutes. I was on hunt for a portable AC to cool my living room, and this unit caught my eye. First off, the cooling power is impressive. Even on sweltering days, it manages to bring down the temperature in my large space pretty quickly. The 3 in 1 functions (AC, fan, dehumidify) is a huge plus. Remote is handy, and the installation kit made setup easy. Quiet enough, and it’s portable, so I can wheel it to the bedroom if needed. Only complaint? Love this AC! It’s our second summer with it and it’s still working great. Extremely easy install. I got the 8,000 for my bedroom and it’s perfect. Keeps the room perfectly cool and it’s not loud. Comes with a remote which is convenient for when you’re laying in bed. Maintains a bedroom cold all night, may even be ok for a small living room. Only thing I can complain about is that it shuts off once temp is reached and then turns back on later when the temp is rising. I wish it would just stay running… anyone know how to change that? My upstairs bedrooms don’t get enough a/c to keep them as cool as everyone wants without the downstairs being freezing. This unit is great to cool a bedroom. It was very easy to install in the window, but the vent is a little tricky. It also doesn’t stay attached very well. We used duct tape to secure it. Overall, I am very happy with this unit. So far the machine looks sturdy. Remote came w battery..yay! Easy assembly. Turns on well all set to go but a part was missing. The manual has NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER! It's made in China so I Fear I will not receive my part or if I do, it should take forever. I emailed them so I will let you know how long it takes to get my -machine-to-duct-connector. Once I get that part I will REreview. My 1st impression is it will be a good machine; packed well for shipping. If there was just an 800 NUMBER TO CALL FOR URGENT THING LIKE THIS. It's June now, and the weather is very hot. This standing air conditioner is very good, with adjustable wind speed and easy installation. It has wheels at the bottom, which can be easily moved to the ideal position. The only thing I made a mistake was that the two plastic plates on the windowsill did not need to be cut off. I measured the size of the window guard and the installation plate, and then cut them. I installed them later and found that they could actually be moved and reduced. Overall this unit is working fine as an AC cooling unit, however, it does NOT have a heating mode as advertised. There are also several other discrepancies in the listing. The height dimension is incorrect. It states in the description it is 8000 BTU, which I thought might be the SACC rating, but its SACC rating is 6000 BTU. The 10,000 BTU is correct for its general rating. For the price it is a good cooling unit, but it is not a 4 in 1 unit. The info that Rufus gives you is very incorrect, so I wouldn't trust it.
