It works! I need to sleep on my side. It's brilliant. By positioning the straps, I can get it into the proper position to make my back feel supported. I love it. Material could be more durable, but it's an excellent design. If it wears out, I'll repair it or buy another one. Read more
Pure junk. It is much smaller than the photos and dimensions shown, and very cheap. The threads holding it together started ripping immediately before even putting the item on. What a waste of time, of this had been $5 it still would have been overpriced. There's no way this will work or prevent anyone from rolling onto their back. Read more
Excellent idea, seems to work, comfortable, but after 1 week it started to rip in exactly the same place as another review here shows... Read more
Nothing could prevent my husband from sleeping on his back. Not tennis balls, not Woody Knows, not wedges. I would wake to his snoring (he also has apnea) and find him completely splayed out on his back over whatever device we had tried. But the SafeSlumber positional pillow keeps him off his back. It has helped his apnea, although I did buy a soft cervical collar to wear at the same time, and absolutely helped his snoring. Because of the continuous stress placed on the shoulder straps, I knew that one or both of the straps would give way eventually, and one did. I used my sewing machine and a couple of pins to place it back on temporarily, but we will eventually buy a new one. It's worth it, for his health. Read more
Worked well until one of arms ripped within 6 months. Seems to be made with cheap material. Read more
For many with sleep apnea and/or snoring, side-sleeping often provides a major reduction in sleep apnea events/hour -- sometimes enough to avoid needing to use a CPAP. FYI, I measured apnea events (significantly reduced oxygen levels for over 10 seconds) using an EMAY EMO-80 oximeter which records oxygen levels every second all-night long and produces comprehensive reports -- see my review of the EMO-80. The SafeSlumber Positional Pillow for Sleep Apnea device is very comfortable and it's unique design makes it literally impossible to roll onto you back either fully or even partially. As you'll read below, other devices I tried had significant downsides whereas this device has none. The problem for me, and many others, is to stay on my side all night and not end up sleeping on my back either partially or fully. I've tried many device which didn't work very well: - a vest/backpack with tennis or cork balls in a pocket in the back. This worked fairly well, but had two strong negatives: I would roll half way onto my back before the discomfort from the balls kicked in and would end up sleeping in that position which just provided a minor improvement in reduced apnea events. The second negative is when my body rolled further, the major discomfort from the balls would awaken me, thus disrupting sleep. - a single wedge on my back ... don't bother even trying this since it doesn't prevent you from rolling in the opposite direction, and if your body rolls toward the wedge, it just moves away regardless of the non-slip claims. - two connected wedges -- one against your back and one against your stomach. This is a big improvement over a single wedge since it solves both of the above problems that the single wedge had. However the wedges are angled at 30 or 40 degrees which does not prevent you from rolling partially onto your back thus only provides minor improvements in reducing apnea events. A secondary issue is that it's a bit of a challenge getting out from between the two connected wedges and back in should you need to use the restroom during the night. - two connected cylinder shaped pillows (e.g., 18" long, 8" diameter). These are comfortable, but have same two issues as the connected wedges. - a backpack with cylinder shaped pillow attached to the back. More comfortable than the tennis/cork ball vest, but still permits sleeping partially on your side/partially on your back. The SafeSlumber Positional Pillow for Sleep Apnea is a backpack with a wedge on the back (as opposed to hard balls or a cylinder shaped pillow). See pictures of the product in the Amazon listing. This product is very well-made, very comfortable, and has none of the problems that the other devices I described above have. Wearing this, you cannot possibly roll even partially on your back. With this comfortably enforced side sleeping device, my apnea events were reduced from 30 to 7 per hour! In addition, my lowest oxygen level during the night was 85, whereas it would go as low as 60 while back sleeping. These are incredible improvements. I had planned on getting a CPAP. Now that's likely off the table for me. I may get a dental device since my sleep apnea is only mild to moderate while I'm side sleeping. I highly recommend this device and highly commend its designers. Read more
Numbing my arms because straps is too tight and too short. I’m over 6 foot tall. But the strap is too short for me. Need strap a little longer. Broke easily, not good for 6 foot person. Read more
Life saver! Definitely works for not rolling over onto your back. I cannot speak for wear and tear as I just received mine a few days ago, but I’ve been sleeping great on my side ever since. Thanks to a random Reddit that recommended this to me because I had no idea such a thing existed. Wow Read more
