This is a review of the CARAMBOLA Power Inverter product. This product is used with a DeWALT 20V MAX-pattern battery by inserting the battery into the device’s battery connection, just as though it were a power tool. The Power Inverter is then capable of performing several important functions. First, the Power Inverter has a large LED light panel mounted on the top of the device which can provide 300LM of illumination to the area the user desires. Second, the Power Inverter can supply DC power through its two (2) USB-A ports and the one (1) USB-C port. Third, the Power Inverter is also capable of supplying 110VAC power through the single grounded outlet located below the USB-A and USB-C ports. The Power Inverter has a built-in cooling fan that ensures that the electronics inside the case do not overheat. The Power Inverter is built into a polymer case that measures 3 1/8” wide, 4 1/4" long, and 3 3/8” high. The light panel contains 24 individual LEDs and the array measures 3 1/2” by 2 7/8” and the LED array only consumes 3 watts of power when on. The LED array is mounted onto the top of the Power Inverter case and the hinge mechanism allows the panel to be rotated a full 180° to aim the light produced. The power from the USB ports may be used power USB-powered devices or to charge USB devices. The Power Inverter has a total of three (3) USB ports, two (2) USB-A ports and one (1) USB-C port. The USB-A ports have a power output potential of 15 watts each (2X 5V@3A). The USB-C port has a power potential of 18 watts and conforms to the Power Delivery (PD) protocol. The 110VAC power outlet has a potential output of 200 watts (Continuous) and 350 watts (Peak). Special Note: There are some conflicting statements on the Amazon page text and graphics about the power values. I have quoted those values from the Manufacturer’s data card supplied with the Power Inverter (and also cited on the Amazon page). The Power Inverter has a number of special protections built into the device’s electronics to protect the device, any devices that the Power Inverter is supplying power to, and the battery that power is being drawn from. The five safety protections cited on the Amazon Page’s graphics include: o Battery Protection o Short Circuit Protection o Over-Load Protection o Over-Voltage Protection o Over-Heat Protection o Low Voltage Protection It must be noted that the DeWALT-pattern battery cannot be recharged through the Power Inverter. I have tested the Power Inverter with several DeWALT and DeWALT-pattern batteries. Everything worked as it was described and the power output was within the stated values. That said, I did discover one issue with the 110VAC outlet. I found that the contacts within the outlet did not put sufficient pressure upon the inserted plug’s contacts. In fact, I had one USB charging block literally fall out of the outlet when I moved the Power Inverter. I tried several different plugs and all had the same problem. I did note that when a grounded plug was inserted, there was much more friction when inserting and removing the plug. I can only assume that the grounding contact has much more pressure applied to it than is applied to the plug’s hot and neutral contacts. I like this product very much. It does not have a great deal of power output but it does have sufficient output for many needs. The problem with the 110VAC outlet concerns me though. Read more
Have an AC powered device but no outlets nearby? This tool battery inverter may be of help. In this instance, it takes a Team Yellow’s 20V max. battery and converts it to a single AC outlet; two USB-A and a USB-C port are available too. The LED panel has its own power button, though in terms of light output, it's on the dimmer side. Output wise, it’s modified sine-wave – par for course on units such as this. On my oscilloscope multimeter, we’re looking at 114V RMS. However, do be mindful of the available power. Small desktop fan? Soldering iron? Glue gun? No problem. Power tools? Small kitchen appliances? Absolutely not! This unit appears to cut off the battery at around 15-16 volts, which is a huge plus. Remember, Team Yellow has their low voltage cutoff on the tools, not the battery. Not all is perfect, however. On my unit, the LED panel felt loose. Additionally, there's a UL logo on the product label, yet there are zero records of this being listed. While the seller makes no reference to this being listed, the logo should NOT be present at all. 4 stars; decent, but there's room for improvement too. Read more

This device seems to be a total game-changer, especially for people like me who are already using the DeWalt 20V battery system. It’s perfect for turning one of my tool batteries into a really useful, portable power source. First off, I'm really impressed by its compact and solid design. It's small enough that I can easily throw it into a toolbag without it taking up much space, which is perfect for my weekend camping trips or road adventures in addition at the job site. The build quality feels "well made," which gives me confidence that it'll hold up no matter where I take it. For me, the best part is how it transforms my battery into a powerful battery pack. I can keep all my devices—like my phone, laptop, and other small gadgets—charged up and ready to go. It makes things portable that once wher enot, like an electric cooler. . It's exactly the kind of companion I need for my off-grid hobbies. Aside from hobbies and work it is great for emergencies. If you got caught by a coming storm and lose power you have the ability to change stored battery power in your work batteries to usable power for your family at home. One of the features that really caught my attention is the integrated light. I was surprised to see how strong it is—it was bright enough to see under a house I can imagine how useful it would be for lighting up my tent or picnic table after the sun goes down. This simple addition makes the device even more valuable. Overall, I'm extremely positive about this product. I feel that this inverter is a must-have accessory to get more functionality out of my existing DeWalt batteries. Read more
This compact inverter has been surprisingly useful for my work. I use it to demo low-power devices I’m selling, and it runs them smoothly from the DeWalt batteries I already have on hand. It’s handled around 200 watts for several minutes without issue, which is plenty for my needs. The form factor is lightweight, easy to carry, and the added USB ports make it practical beyond just AC output. While it’s not meant for heavy-duty appliances, it’s a great little tool for quick setups, portability, or backup power in a pinch. For the price, it adds real flexibility to my stack of DeWalt batteries and has been worth it. Read more
Works as expected. Seems durable and good value. Able to use DeWalt batteries to power plug in 120v AC items. I did not test the wattage. Read more
