I've been on the search a long time for a pillow that's comfortable for me as a side sleeper. I have spent far too much on expensive "fancy" pillows advertised for side sleeping, with contours, depressions in the middle, memory foam, regular foam, feathers, you name it. I thought I'd take a chance on this little pillow, not expecting much from it but figuring I wouldn't lose much if it didn't work. I am so pleasantly surprised by this pillow! Pros: -Cover is very soft and comfortable (however, I put a regular sized pillow case on the butterfly pillow so I won't have to wash the cover as often) -Shape and size are attractive and functional. I sleep with the wider, taller side closer to my shoulders. -No scent at all, even right out of the package. Still, I did leave it in another room for 2 days before using it. -Unlike my feather pillow, it doesn't need to be punched and bunched up every night and during the night. -The center hole keeps my ears comfortable when I put in earbuds to play sleep sounds. -My neck is much more comfortable and has better range of motion since I've been using this pillow. Cons -Very few! It would be nice if it came with 2 covers so you could wash one, use the other (and in colors other than black.) -For me, it needs to be placed on top of my favorite feather pillow which is not quite high or comfy enough by itself. With the Butterfly pillow on top, the height is perfect for my neck and shoulders. -I've been using it for several weeks, but I'm not sure what to do when the cotton filling eventually starts to compress. I have a pressure injury on my right ear lobe and cartilage areas. This pillow seems to be helping. My only complaint is I have to use a pillow case so the pillow with the special hole in the center doesn’t get too yucky ! Read more

I received this side sleep pillow and found the arrival to be a pain as they put the pillow and directions inside a compressed plastic bag. I get wanting to save on shipping size, but it seems all that cost probably got lost in the compression equipment. I found it difficult to figure the thing out, as you can see from the pictures, as I had to iron out the directions and still could barely read them. Sorry, this cost a good product two stars, but not sorry, it was a big waste of time, and then I had to wait two days before getting to use it while it regained its shape and form. So I slept on it and immediately found that the zipper hurt my head. Why not include a washable pillow case in the size of the odd-shaped pillow, to cover up the zipper, and for easier washing?? So, I was forced to find a smaller pillow case, which we did not have one (out of a pile of 25 pillowcases), so I basically had a doubled-over pillow case cover on the hole, eliminating part of the intentions of the hole in the middle to keep your ear from hurting. Once I got past all these initial irritations, it does provide a good option for the time of night when I sleep on my side. I only do that for maybe a 4th of the night, as at my age, I have to change positions a lot to keep the legs from falling asleep or having the sciatica get inflamed from being in one position. This does not do very well when lying on your back, as it is not tall enough. Soooo, I have to keep my other pillow for lying on the back and end up losing this one as it falls on the floor. I LOVE this pillow!! I've used an ancient father pillow up until now; all the other pillows I've tried over the years were not comfortable. However the feather pillow needed fluffing and smushing to get it into position each roll over, and caused ear and neck pain. This pillow has stopped ALL of that. The cover was easy to get on and off and wash; after the first night i put a regular pillow case on top and left it loose so the ear hole is still effective. I've used this pillow for 2 weeks and have not woken with ear pain or the headaches i sometimes get from my neck being tweaked during the night. It's so amazing!! The size is great, fits under my chin or cradles my head nicely when on my back. The cover is soft and looks great. Cannot stress how much i love this pillow! Read more

I think this is a good ear pillow, I just have a hard time getting comfortable with it. I normally use a round donut style ear pillow, and I wanted to try something that felt more like a full or regular sized pillow to see if I’d like it better. In the end, I actually prefer my donut pillow. The thickness of this pillow is good, and it’s not too soft or too firm. The ear hole feels a bit smaller than my other pillow, even though they look about the same size. I also only seem to be able to lie comfortably on my left side when using this. I’m not sure why, but it feels more awkward to position when I’m on my right side. I don’t really hold that against the pillow itself since it’s probably more about my positioning, but it does highlight that this style might not be as versatile as a donut pillow. I think it really comes down to personal preference. It’s not my favorite, but I do still get some use out of it. I especially like resting the back of my head against it, so I’d still recommend giving it a try. Read more
