Solid sharpener for the price, but not for every blade
This 3-stage knife sharpener does a respectable job restoring the edge on most standard kitchen knives. The repair, hone, and polish sequence is clearly defined, and the slots guide the blade with decent stability. After running a couple of older chef’s knives through all three stages, I saw a noticeable improvement in cutting performance—definitely sharper, especially with straight-edged blades. It won’t restore a totally wrecked knife to factory-new sharpness, but for regular upkeep or moderate dulling, it’s effective and fast. The grip is comfortable and steady, even with light pressure, and the unit stays in place during sharpening without wobbling. I also like that it doesn’t require much force—you’re not grinding aggressively, which helps preserve blade life. However, this isn’t a catch-all solution: it’s not designed for serrated knives or Japanese blades with very hard steel or fine angles. And while the tungsten and ceramic materials in the slots feel sturdy, I wouldn’t expect them to last forever with daily use—occasional touch-ups are really the ideal use case. For the average home cook using basic stainless steel knives, this tool is practical, easy to use, and delivers results in under a minute.
