Just what I was looking for--small, compact, easy-to-use, with several choices of functions that work just fine. The only disappointment is that the mandolin-style slicer has only one size. If you want very thin slices, you'll be out of luck with this device. But I like the raked design--makes working on it much easier. And I like the container underneath that catches the slices or shreds. Works great. Easy to clean. All in all, a great buy. (For those who criticized this item because they cut themselves when using it--I'm sorry you were injured, but I call that a good thing for the product. It's sharp and works as designed. This is so easy to use and the different tops go on super easy and the grip on the bottom of the container holds in place nice. My first use was to slice onions and I was done in less than a minute. Be sure to use the safety plastic to stick on the item to ensure you don’t cut your finger. Like I said u get right down faster than you think. I love how it all stacks together for storage. Very happy w/ this mandolin. The only drawback is the limit of only 2 slice thicknesses, but for this price I guess I can't expect more. The slicing plates easily lock into place & unlock w/ the turn of a knob. Does not slip when used over a bowl & can be propped up on its foldable handle to use on a cutting board. Handle seems to be sturdy so it won't fold under use, but I haven't used it that way yet. Seems to be sturdy, easy to clean under running water w/ a brush. I think it's dishwasher safe, but I don't have one, so I can't verify that w/ my own experience. Blades are very sharp! I choose to use Kevlar kitchen gloves rather than the hand-safety food-pusher thingy. I don't like the way they poke holes all in the food & then waste so much! But DO use safety protocol or you WILL easily lose a piece of your hand! Read more

I use the graters every day for salads and waited a few months to review the product. Most graters are difficult to clean. I use these directly in the salad bowl. The clean up is very easy. The different graters are sharp but not dangerous if used properly. They grate quickly. Finding a good kitchen tool reduces the time it takes to prepare meals and clean up afterwards. Read more

My old mandolin was getting dull, so I bought this one to replace it. Its very sharp and cuts good. I found the way the slice thickness is set a little odd (there are different insert plates for different sizes), but it works well. It's shorter than my old one, but that does not seem to make too much difference. The built in folding stand is really nice. I put it in the dishwasher to clean it. It always comes out clean. The safety handle works pretty good for most vegetables (it doesn't work for carrots). If you don't or can't use it you gotta be careful not to cut your fingers because this thing is sharp. I bought this for my father-in-law as a birthday gift. That being said I had to show him how to use it and it works really well. VERY SHARP! Please be very careful when using this product as the blade is very sharp. You can cut perfect cucumbers carrots potatoes whatever you want quickly and with little effort. We have been using a traditional french fry cutter which became difficult to use with the amount of force needed and the potatoes were bigger than desired. I also use this to make a Ratatouille and ended up with paper thin slices of squash perfection! Very easy to use, would be a great gift for someone who likes to can vegetables or make pickles.
