Protron PD-800 Progressive Scan DVD Player

Bought this at HH Gregg for $20 when they had employee family pricing. I wasn't expecting much for the price, so I'm not disappointed. It plays most movies ok. It loads a little slow and the remote is a little stiff. Subtitles don't seem to work too well. I tried watching the Seinfeld DVD's with the "Notes about nothing" on. It cut a lot of them off. You could probably get a better DVD player for $10 more. But if you are just looking for something to have in your room or the kids room, it's decent, though not for $40. Seems to play pressed DVDs (purchased movies etc) fine. Only played 1/2 of my DVD-Rs (burned DVDs). Players from other manufacturers played all of my disks. You can get this unit at HHGreg for $30. Read more
