The cross bones and skull and the rivets are all placed with care and secure. the Pu leather is a wonderful alternative to leather. It is soft but has the appearance of leather. It is very flexible and forms to the head. My only complaint might be that it is big, but I understand that it is a one size fits all. When I tie the tails, it does fit. The first time I wore it, I received a lot of comments and questions on where I got it. When I said it wasn't leather, I was told if I hadn't said anything they wouldn't have known.
