Lightweight and comfortable. Great for walking or hiking. They can be rolled up into a very small package for packing. The elastic waist is nice and secure without being too tight. It does have belt loops if you need them. One of the features I like most is the heavy duty button closure. It is a metal button similar to a popular brand of jeans. I am a 36 waist and bought a X-large as they tend to run small. These were best purchased on sale. I now have 4 pair. They only received a 4 star rating until I see how long they last. Read more

These are great looking and fitting shorts. The length is perfect in that they hit just above the kneecap. I feel like a gangbanger wearing shorts that come below my knee and those kinds of shorts just aren't age appropriate for over 60 (for me anyway). I like that these have the amount of stretch in the waistband. It allows me to wear a size down from what I need in shorts with no stretch. These are size 36 and fit perfectly. The belt loops are an added feature in these types of shorts over just those with a string to tie. I'm 5'9" and 189 pounds and my stomach is bigger than my hips, so a belt is essential to keep them up. It hard to get the string tie tight enough to stay up and still be comfortable in a seated position. Good quality, nice deep pockets. I could have done without the front pockets having zippers, but that is not a deal breaker. Same with not having two pockets on the rear. I have carried my wallet in my left back pocket for years and I keep reaching around to get it out. Otherwise, these are great summer shorts, and I have bought another pair in a different color. These shorts look great but the durability isn’t great. They ripped in the pockets a few months into use and the rubber bit on the zipper came off as well. They are however a great fit, have a good stretch and breath well. Read more
