Great product! I use it for everything! It’s anti microbial and safe for kids and pets. I use to clean my counters, my bathroom, my couches, my mattress, just about everywhere in my house. It gets rid of odor effectively. It does have sort of a chlorine like scent to it but that doesn’t last long, that fades after a bit. It’s a big bottle, should last a long time! Read more
Bought this as a pet-safe cleaner. Did not have high expectations for how well it would clean, especially the grungy stuff I'd been using Clorox bleach cleaner on. To my surprise it not only matched, but exceeded the Clorox bleach cleaner. It's especially good at removing animal smells. I've used it to clean cat urine and the grungy, smelly residue of a former mouse infestation in a closet. Not only did it remove the visible gunk; it also cleared the smell. A previous review claims this product is not “pure HOCl,” because the label says Hypristine is a ‘BIOMIMIC.” The reviewer takes this to term to mean that Hypristine is only a “MIMIC” of pure HOCl. So, I contacted Hypristine to bring clarity to this point: Is Hypristine pure HOCl? Because I realize that a lot of us are here because we care about using natural products in our homes, I’m sharing my takeaways from our lengthy conversation: Is Hypristine HOCl the *actual* product of human white blood cells, bottled at the source? No. (And I’d hope not!). Does Hypristine’s process create a product that is CHEMICALLY IDENTICAL to the HOCl that white blood cells produce to fight infection and illness and, therefore, “pure HOCl”? YES. Also, a note on the term “biomimicry.” The former reviewer and I took this to be a marketing term. The company will be relabeling future bottles because of the confusion. However, after my dialogue with Hypristine, I did some digging, and found that it is indeed a scientific term. The NIH states on its website: “Biomimicry is an interdisciplinary approach to study and transfer principles or mechanisms from nature to solve design challenges.” In other words, the term describes the process of discovery. Products like hydrogen peroxide and bleach were discovered by chemists isolating chemicals and then observing and testing their uses. Products like Hypristine HOCl had their beginning in asking how nature fights infection and illness and then observing the tools nature uses. As far as my personal experience with Hypristine so far? I love that it is low on odor, and has a non-frustrating, fully functional sprayer that evenly coats surfaces. This is an effective disinfectant and deodorant, but it was shipped with no sprayer, just a cap on the bottle, it should clear this product doesn't come with one. I'll choose the previous brand that I was using from now on. Read more
I have two dogs and a partner who is very sensitive to pet odors, dust, and allergens, and this spray has been a game changer. After putting the pups to bed, I spray their bed in the living room, the area rug, and our couch before heading to bed. I crack a window for fresh air, and honestly, it doesn’t even smell like pets live here. I use this to clean my sauna blanket, and it works well. I spray the surface inside/outside of the blanket and let it air dry. It keeps everything clean and smelling fresh. Read more
