One of the best matchas I’ve ever bought on Amazon, and somehow crazy affordable. Bright green, smooth, rich flavor, no bitterness, and mixes beautifully. Immediate repurchase status. If you’re picky about your matcha (like I am), this one punches way above its price point. No clumps, no grassy dirt flavor, just good vibes and good energy. A staple in my cabinet now. Read more

this matcha is actually fantastic. insanely good value for 30g. this is a great daily matcha for my matcha lovers. obviously a bougie brand like rocky’s or ippodo is gonna be more luxurious but if you are having a latte this stuff is AMAZING. it’s so bright green, has a strong floral smell, and doesn’t taste vegetal. definitely sift it before use (like you should with all matcha) and you’ll love. i use 1 heaping tsp of this stuff, 2 tsp of vanilla syrup, and 1 cup of steamed oatmilk and it’s so good Read more

This matcha was recommended to me by someone but I couldn’t find any reviews online apart from this listing. I was pleasantly surprised by this matcha. Upon opening the container you definitely get that lovely aroma. The beautiful green color is there in the canister but in the bowl looks a little more dull and in a latte comes out a vibrant green with yellow tones. As an usucha there was definitely some astringency followed with some umami. In a latte I found that the flavors balanced out very well almost a floral like sweet followed by the umami shortly after and the astringency toned down. I would say I had to do a bit more whisking to get that froth and this matcha has just an okay mouth feel. It’s not the creamiest but I would still repurchase this one as I think it would be a good daily. For reference I am a big fan of Ippodo’s Sayaka & Ummon, Atelier’s Ogurayama and Nami’s Yame First Harvest. Overall I give this matcha a 3/5 :) Read more

I have never written a review on Amazon before, that's how much I love this matcha. I purchased a tin (and it arrived in two days with free shipping!!) and it was SO GOOD I had to restrain myself from making some every 47 minutes. Despite my best efforts, I consumed the entire tin in 8 days. When making my matcha the morning of Day 8 I literally took my finger and scraped the tin clean like a junkie licking a dime bag. Luckily, on Day 6 I had ordered more (multiple tins at once this time) so by the afternoon of Day 8, I was all stocked up again. Yeah. It's that good. And it's not only that the taste is delicious--creamy, nutty, earthiness with not a hint of bitterness, with a sweet smell that hits you as soon as you open the tin--it's how drinking it makes me feel. I've been a coffee drinker my entire life, so caffeine and me are VERY intimate. (And I've also experimented with plenty of different matchas before, and none were anything special.) I know exactly what type and provenance of beans, brewing method, and method of consumption will produce what kind of effect. Even with the most ideal combination (for my body) of all of these elements, I have never felt anywhere close to the quality of energy drinking this matcha has for me. Nothing even approaching jitters, no nervous system effects, no anxiety, no headaches, no strung out, overcaffeinated feeling, just a pure beam of focused energy. And yet somehow, it also chills me out and relaxes me completely (like, literally my resting heart rate will go down after drinking it), while giving me focused energy......?! It goes against everything I thought I knew about caffeine consumption. BUT I haven't even told you the best part about this matcha, and the reason that pushed me over the edge to deciding I HAD to write a review. In addition to a pure beam of focused energy and a complete feeling of Zen, drinking this matcha makes me feel positively JOYOUS. It is literally an instant antidepressant. Now I don't know about you, but with the world the way it is right now, this effect is unbelievably valuable. If people knew there was an alternative to putting pharmaceutical grade mystery chemicals into their bodies just to be able to get through the day, a whole lot of people would be putting aside their zoloft for good. I know I will be. Thanks for everything, Pure Matcha. <3 Read more

This is an acceptable premium matcha tea. But if you are looking for the best that Amazon has to offier, this does NOT compare to the DoMatcha 1st harvest organic matcha. I tried DoMatcha and loved it, and I only strayed based on the price...this IS a lot less and the reviews seems good enough. Specifically: It IS about as green as DoMatcha (but not quite) and decently smooth tasting, just not as "bright" as the DoMatcha 1st harvest. I do not like the way it is packaged...as once you open it, it is loose in the tin (versus in a foil pouch), so you are going to lose some powder each time you make it just from opening the container. So even though it is cheaper, and you get a small fraction more, you are technically wasting some of the tea. The tea, also doesn't blend easily with my traditional method of making a paste, then adding milk (I use almond milk) and hot water (not too hot!) and frothing it with the bamboo whisk along the way in stages. Others have talked about having to sift their matcha, and this particular tea would seem to benefit from sifting, but who has time for that if it isn't necessary? I have been making a small pitcher of this tea each morning and there is always sediment at the bottom of the pitcher and my cup and I did not experience this with DoMatcha. So, if you do choose to buy this tea, you will not be unhappy, but you will be happier with DoMatcha 1st harvest organic. I am going to try the 2nd harvest organic DoMatcha and see if that comes close enough to matching the 1st harvest. If so, that will be an even better buy, dollar for dollar..wait for more reviews.
