I’ve tried countless litters over the years, and this is the one I always come back to. It just works. Here’s why: 1. Dust-Free Myth Truly dust-free, hard-clumping litter doesn’t exist. The fine particles (what people call “dust”) are exactly what make clumps tight and solid. Without them, you end up with gooey, messy clumps. This litter gets it right. 2. Lightweight Litters = Less Litter Lightweight formulas are mostly air. They don’t clump as well, and you burn through them faster. Unless lifting is an issue, you’re getting less for more money. 3. Odor Control That Lasts No litter controls odor forever, but this one does better than anything else I’ve tried. Week 1 = excellent. Week 2 = still strong. By Week 3, it’s time for a full refresh. With one cat and two boxes, I swap everything monthly, and this litter keeps the boxes fresh in between. I've been using Purina Tidy Cats Free & Clean Unscented for a while now, and overall it does a good job. The unscented formula is a big plus—no overwhelming fragrance, and it keeps odors under control surprisingly well. The 38 lb. box is also a great value and lasts a good amount of time. However, the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the texture and clumping seem a bit inconsistent from box to box. Sometimes it clumps beautifully and stays firm, and other times it can be a little more crumbly or dusty than expected. It still works, just not always at the same level of performance. Aside from that, it’s easy to pour, doesn’t track too badly, and the lack of added fragrances is a huge win. If consistency were improved, this would easily be a 5-star product. This cat litter is not dusty unlike the brand that we use before. Definitely, value for money is one of the factor that I subscribed to. It absorbs a lot and is not messy to clean because it sticks when you clump it. It is reliable, cheap and you don’t need to change it for a while. It also doesn’t give you any unpleasant odor. My senior cat recently started getting picky about the litter box. She was not going in it at night; not covering up when she did go in the box. I've tried so many different brands over the years and with my asthma and allergies, I cannot use scented or anything with too much dust. This litter pleases both me and my kitty. She goes in the box regularly *and* covers it up very well. I have had no dust drifting to my furniture or other household surfaces. In the past, I could see the film of litter dust accumulate on the top of my toaster oven (drove me crazy). With this litter, there is ZERO dust on top of my toaster oven. In addition, because it clumps so incredible well, I remove very little of the used litter on a regular basis which makes it so much more cost-effective. I use a disposable litter liner and instead of changing the entire box 2x a week or more, I could go to 1x a week due to the excellent clumping. My only issue is that even the 16 pound bag is a little heavy for me to lift and pour, but I prefer it over having a huge plastic container to dispose of. I was using the litter at a pet store where you re-use the plastic containers but it was too dusty and the litter was too big for my kitty / she no longer liked to touch it. I have 20 cats so I feel qualified to review this litter. This is the ONLY litter I use. I only use unscented litter as cats have sensitive noses and scented litter is offensive. This litter in particular prevents odor. I just keep adding to my boxes and dont discard any litter so it sits in the box for a while. When I do this with other litter I always end up with that stinky urine smell. This litter prevents that. I have tried all the leading litters and I always go back to this one. The corn cob litter works well to but my cats seem to prefer this litter over that when I have both boxes out. It does track a bit.. but doesn't it all? Just get one of those thin silicone litter mats with a lip on them. Read more
