I’ve used heavy cat litter boxes for years, and carrying them inside was always a chore. The Purina Tidy Cats Lightweight version is a game changer - so much easier to lift and handle, especially when it comes delivered right to the door from Amazon. My back definitely appreciates the difference. It’s truly dust free, clumps well, and the unscented formula keeps things clean without overpowering smells. Great product that makes litter duty a lot less stressful. Read more

Great litter, however it tracks all over. I just need to get a bigger litter mat. Read more

I adopted two kittens, and the foster mom was using Tidy Cats lightweight, so I just continued it. I have to carry the litter up three flights, so lightweight is a major plus for me. The unscented does a good job of containing the odor, and at least it doesn’t change to flower scented pee like the scented versions. (BTW, the Tidy Cats Lightweight 24/7 is HORRIBLE. The scent is overpowering out of the box, and mixes unpleasantly with the urine and poo smells. I dumped it after a week, it smelled so gross). I have two 6 mo old, roughly 5 lb kittens, with three litter boxes that get scooped at least once, and often twice a day. Two use Tidy Cats lightweight, and one uses a popular non clumping crystal litter. Pro’s: - Lightweight. This is a big pro. - Unscented. I prefer unscented, and this actually does a decent job controlling odor. - The cats use it, no hesitation, no issues going outside the Litterbox - Low dust. It can be dusty when pouring out into box initially, but it’s less dusty than the regular weight clumping I was using with prior cats. - Odor control. I easily get two to three weeks with no noticeable odor issues. Con’s - I don’t know if they will grow out of it, but my kittens kick this all over when they are digging for the right spot in the box to do their business. So there is a lot of sweeping/vacuuming to keep the area clean. This also impacts the clumping, as they break up the clumps in the process of messing around in the box. Again, these are kittens, so your experience may be better. - Minor issue, but the little charcoal bits that help control odor can leave black streaks on light colored flooring when being swept or vacuumed. The streaks wipe up easily, though, so worth it to me for the odor control and lightweight. So, for cat litter, I’ll trade off a bit of messiness with litter scatter for positive cat acceptability, lightweight, effective unscented odor control. Also, for perspective, I’m using the crystal litter on my main floor. The kittens are less likely to track that around, and it has equivalent odor control, weight and low dust. I’d use that everywhere, but I don’t think it’s as comfortable on their paws, so they do use it less than the TC upstairs. Read more

Okay. This is the litter I've been looking for. Pros: Light weight: I first sought this out for obviously carrying the litter home purposes, but it has other benefits such as the filled litterbox being not as heavy so easier to move to clean around. The spent litter is not has heavy so the trash is not as heavy either. I have 3 cats and OMG I feel like I'm taking out a baby elephant everytime I clean the box, but that's not as much a problem with lightweight litter. Aborbency- Yes. It does it well. The only times it has not absorbed 100% is user error, when my idiot cats decide to pee against the wall of the litterbox. The litter absorbs so well it forms a shell around the area, and the wetness can't seep past to be absorbed, so sometimes I scoop up a ball of stinky pee that is totally still wet on the inside. But if the cats go in the middle of the box, It's all clumped, dry, solid and with no urine odor Scent: OMG! It's TRULY UNSCENTED! I thanked the litter gods when opened the container and was not whooshed with a bunch of "lightly scented, or "almost unscented" but still chemically perfumed litter. I literally laughted out loud and placed another order. I don't want sweet fake smells, I don't want ANY smells, and my cats don't need to breath in perfumes just to take a piss. Cons: Okay. So, I discovered that light litter means light in ALL situations. That means that if some litter gets on the cats foot, then when they jump out of the box, Lightweight litter goes flying everywhere. Litter sticks to cats feet. So, If it's lightweight, it's going to fall off later than sooner and be carried farther from the box than a heavy clay litter. So, Yeah, I'm finding litter further from the box than ever before. Thank goodness I have a good vacuum cleaner. This is the only litter I will buy from now on ( until they change it or it becomes unavailable, that's what happens with all good products eventually) Read more

Tried this for the first time. This is definitely light weight form of litter, but it is so dusty. My cat developed allergy slowly, till one day I noticed both nostrils were packed with residue from this litter. Really bad quality.
