This velvet jacket is a great value for the money. The material is not overly thick, which makes it less of a jacket and more of a blouse/focal point for your outfit. For me at 5 foot 9, however, I find the length a little short, and wish it was about 2 inches longer for my long torso. It is soft and drapey, which has me fluctuating between the size large, which fits slightly closer to the body, or the extra large, which gives a greater amount of drape and flow. I think, to ensure the fullness may actually make it a little slightly longer, I prefer the extra large. The purple is particularly gorgeous, and as one reviewer already said, it is a true purple, which makes it tremendously versatile. I also purchased it in brown, which is a lovely golden brown and goes great with jeans. All in all quite pleased, and I think you can go with a size down if need be, depending on what you were wearing under it. I kind of like it over for a long sleeve T-shirt, more 70s folk rock - but also gorgeous over a matching silky cami. I love this piece. I love it's lightweight fabric that is still thick enough velvet to look rich, love the mauve pink color, and love the tailoring. It's a great FP dupe at a fraction of the price. High quality piece with "boho" glam" style. I may add more trim to the edges and keep it as a long-term staple in my wardrobe. I was so excited when I found this cropped velvet jacket that I purchased 3 more for my sisters as gifts! They do run oversized (I normally wear a M/L with 38”-40” chest circumference) and ordered the Small- fits great! The wide kimono type sleeves give it Asian vibe but also ideal for anyone that has full upper arms. It’s perfect dressed up or casual with jeans and boho skirts & over tank dresses. Because it’s cut full it hides the bra & back rolls. I love the lace trim mixed with the velvet and the tie front you can wear it open or over camisole’s or tee shirts, so comfy & stylish either way.
