No PFAS or other chemicals and strong enough when using the proper side-to-side technique

ins!ghtMay 23, 2024✓ Verified purchase

I use this now to replace Glide floss. It is the thinnest out of all the non-petroleum-based flosses, but it is somewhat weaker. It is plenty strong when you use the technique of gently going side-to-side (no tension on the floss) between teeth pinch points. After you're past the pinch point, you can apply more pressure to the sides of teeth by increasing the tension of the floss and you're fine. There is enough friction between the pinch points to remove plaque there using this method and avoids breaking floss. BPA, PFAS, etc. today--more acronyms tomorrow for what's considered safe now (polyester, nylon, etc.). Also, it stands to reason that the gum tissue between teeth is very sensitive and highly absorbant, so any chemicals will be readily absorbed into the body. Add repeated long-term exposure and the fact that flossing can make your gums bleed (chemicals possibly being directly routed into the bloodstream), this floss makes the most sense. They do need to work on their quality control, as some batches appear to be weaker than others. Maybe someone will develop spider silk floss soon. Read more

If you prefer floss that breaks apart frequently, look no further.

Nicole PersingerAugust 21, 2024✓ Verified purchase

This is without a doubt the worst dental floss I have ever used. I purchased a second time thinking the first batch I got was just a dud. Turns out it’s just crappy floss. I have really straight teeth from braces that I had when I was young, and at age 40, I still wear my retainers about once a week. I kept debating on leaving a review but tonight was the last straw. While I was flossing it broke in between my back molars and when I tried to pull it out it just kept shredding apart until there was no way to grab it. I tried tweezers, another kind of floss, a flosser, fishing line, and even tried wedging a toothpick to get it out. I finally gave in and had to call my mother to bring me over a floss threader to get it out. I had really high hopes for this “clean” floss but needless to say I’m done, it’s terrible and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Don’t even bother if you have any teeth that are even remotely tight. It’s so fragile and breaks so often that you waste so much of it by the time you’re done flossing. It’s not worth the stress it causes. Read more

Breaks easily!

BFNovember 28, 2025✓ Verified purchase

I bought the Radius dental floss awhile ago and liked it. I finished using my previous order a few months ago and reordered. Unfortunately, I'm not having good luck with the new order. I don't know if my teeth are spaced more tightly than most people but every other time I try to use this floss, it ends up breaking and getting stuck in my teeth. It just took me 10 minutes to get the most recent piece out. Not sure what changed in the product recently but, at least for me, it isn't a good change. Read more

Don't believe the negative reviews.

MrBigzFebruary 20, 2025✓ Verified purchase

I was hesitant to buy this floss at first and I normally never wrote reviews but after using it I was dumbfounded at all the negative reviews. I have used every brand of floss imaginable in my life and all the Oral B and other popular brands are nowhere near as strong as this floss. Most of the negative reviews say it breaks easily. That is malarkey lol. They must have some messed up teeth as mine are definitely not the straightest and this floss very rarely if ever breaks on me. If it does its because I'm using it at a weird angle by mistake. The worst part about popular floss brands are even when it doesn't break it starts to shred. The reason I wanted to switch to a natural floss if the articles about the huge amount of microplastics found in plastic nylon floss. So take it from someone who has actually purchased it and is using it correctly that this floss is as good as it gets. Ps. Don't fall for the all natural label they put on all the floss stick brands. The stick itself is the only part that is natural or made of recycled materials. The actual floss is still nylon. So if you want a brand that reduces your microplastic exposure and is biodegradable you have found it here. Read more

Not for tightly spaced teeth

JNovember 30, 2025✓ Verified purchase

Great brand, clean product. I love that it’s in a cardboard type container and does not contain plastic. 4 out of 5 stars because I can’t use it. It doesn’t have enough wax coating to allow it to slide between my teeth. It takes more force than I’ve ever used with any other type of floss or product- so much that it breaks the floss and / or causes my gums to bleed ( which they also have never done before). If they made a new type with more or different wax I would try it again. Beware if your teeth are tightly spaced. Read more

Horrible floss

Carla FalksonFebruary 16, 2026✓ Verified purchase

Horrible floss. Like forcing thick string between my teeth. Cut my gums and got stuck between some of my teeth. Will not be buying this or using this again. If I could I would give it a negative star rating. Read more

Once excellent, now is crap

TholepinOctober 15, 2025✓ Verified purchase

If you're wondering about the mixed reviews for this floss, it's because it used to be awesome - exactly the right thickness, grabs food easily from between the teeth, and feels real not synthetic. However the last couple batches I got have been very bad, some too thin and break easily, some too thick and are hard to wedge in between my teeth. The last batch I got was the worst - both too thick it hurts your teeth and also breaks 2-3 times as you try to use it. I'm sad that my old batch is running out because it's excellent in every way whereas the new batch is absolute crap. I don't know where the inconsistency comes from but I can only assume the production process has gone downhill and that you have to judge by what I've seen recently, which would be zero stars. But still I'll give 3 stars for the memory of the best floss there ever was. Read more

RADIUS Floss, easy to use and a safer alternative

MberginJanuary 31, 2026✓ Verified purchase

This RADIUS Floss is made of "natural silk, organic coconut oil and organic Carnauba Wax." Check with the company that makes your current floss. Current health publications cite that their possible use of "PFAS," (polyfluoroalkyl) chemicals and nylon or plastic floss may contribute to health problems. My family has switched to this very gentle and excellent quality floss with great results. I used to have aching teeth and mild nausea after flossing. After consulting with my dentist, he suggested an alternative floss. I'm so glad that the RADIUS floss has relieved me of those issues! Read more
