I was excited to try these for my kids and was disappointed. The floss was too thick to get through their teeth and mine! Not only did they keep breaking but the floss would break in between teeth and it was so hard to get out. Not a fan, I threw the whole bag away after trying. Read more

I really wanted to love these floss picks, but the taste just isn’t it. The bubblegum flavor has more of an earthy aftertaste, which I definitely noticed right away. On top of that, the floss itself has a bit of a woody texture that makes it less smooth compared to the regular picks we’ve used before. I absolutely love the idea of a compostable, non-toxic option, so I had high hopes, but the experience just didn’t match the expectation. That said, I still think it’s awesome that a sustainable alternative exists, and if the flavor/texture was improved, it would be perfect. Read more

One thing to make clear is that these flosses are not compostable everywhere. The standard for compostable product is if it has the BPI ASTM D6400 certification, which indicates that you can compost it with your organics or green waste, otherwise it just goes to the landfill and breaks down faster. As for the product itself, it has a wonderful artificial bubblegum aroma but taste is subtle. The strip of floss is just like any other flosser out there. The little handle that the strip of floss is strung onto can easily break if you put too much pressure. The kit comes with 50 flossers but no handle, which you can request them to send it to you if you wish. I think overall, any opportunity you can get your kids to floss their teeth is a win no matter what product you use.
