LOVE IT!

Hope & LuisAugust 15, 2024

This isn't like any other toothpaste you're used to! It's almost like brushing your teeth with a "kid's" toothpaste because it tastes great and the mint is not overwhelming. The elderberry flavor is delicious, and the xylitol and stevia are welcome too! We can't attest to the immune support claims or benefits, but we can attest to the toothpaste's ability to clean teeth! The ingredients are fantastic. The hydrated silica is not rough on your teeth and does a great job at removing plaque from the surfaces of your teeth. It may get a few uses for you to get used to it, but you'll notice great breath for several hours. Whitening effects are not advertised, but it does seem like the purple color of the toothpaste causes some natural color correcting. We're just now about to run out of our third tube. The price tag is higher than we want it to be, but we think the product is worth it. Read more

Fruity and minty

MegWOctober 2, 2024

Overall, it's a nice toothpaste. You get the fruity berry flavor of the elderberry with a blend of mint. My kids like it because it's fruity, but it's also teaching them to like mint. Teeth feel clean after using it. It's hard to determine the effectiveness of the immunity claims, but it's nice to have that extra included! I'm not sure how much protection we're getting with toothpaste though. I'm took off a star because at almost $24USD at the time of review, I find these pricey. That's almost $8 a bottle. I get they're supposed to have an immune boost, but it's a little much for toothpaste. Read more

My teeth feel cleaner than with my previous toothpaste

MariaAugust 26, 2024

I was using a common brand-name toothpaste but was feeling like my teeth were never really clean, even after brushing, flossing, and mouthwash. I switched to this toothpaste as hydroxyapatite has some really interesting research behind it, even if I don't personally have any concerns about fluoride. I'm not sure how much benefits are being absorbed from the elderberry given that I am not eating my toothpaste, but perhaps there is some getting ingested during brushing, I don't know. The best part is that my teeth feel a LOT cleaner with this toothpaste! Somehow it seems to be removing the biofilm much more effectively for me. That alone is making me very happy with this toothpaste! The only downside is I do have to clean my sink frequently, as the purple stains a bit otherwise. Read more

Nice Toothpaste but Too Pricey

AyipsterJuly 15, 2024

This toothpaste is pleasant tasting and does provide a clean feeling to the teeth. The purplish color is supposed to make your teeth appear whiter (like a lot of those specific deep purple toothpastes being marketed for teeth whitening) but I’m not sure I can tell the difference. This gel like paste will not foam up as much as regular toothpaste because it is SLS free (foaming agent) which is a benefit for those who want to avoid that material. It is a different brushing experience with less foam but still seems effective. It does seem to help somewhat with tooth sensitivity with the N-hydroxyapatite ingredient. Although there are ingredients that reportedly boost immunity, I doubt that there is enough in the small amount used for brushing your teeth (and spitting out) to make much of a difference. What really takes away from this product is the cost of the three small tubes (only 2.5 ounces each compared to the average 4-6 ounces in the standard grocery toothpaste products) making it harder to justify purchasing these on a regular basis for your oral care. Probably not a popular view

LoveTableTopGamesJune 15, 2024

I shouldn't beat around the bush, but this feels like a gimmick. How does brushing one's teeth with elderberry, vitamin C, and vitamin E help one's immunity? The instructions don't suggest ingesting this product instead of rinsing down the sink, so how would anyone get benefits to their immunity defenses unless they ingested this toothpaste? Thus, why it feels like a gimmick. I do like the ideas behind the RADIUS company for being U.S. based, 43% less uses of plastics in their product, and other sustainability efforts. Hats off to you! The pea-sized amount of toothpaste seems to disappear after first 30 seconds of my electric toothbrush cycle of 2 minutes. This may simply be an expectation thing, because toothpaste doesn't have to be frothing at the mouth, but I think we (Americans) are used to that high foam. Did my teeth feel clean afterward? Yes, but it also felt like I was brushing with saliva only by the end. Tastes great. I really like the berry over the traditional mint. OVERALL: I'm going to stick to my go to brand of Hello Antiplaque, Fluoride Free Toothpaste, which gives me a 3-pack of 4.7oz each, for 40% the cost of these. Read more

My take: hydroxyapatite is the star of the show in this toothpaste

wynnJune 18, 2024

This elderberry mint toothpaste has a good flavor, which is, true to the name, both minty and fruity (think slightly tangy blackberry). The amount you need to use is small—just a pea sized dollop—and it doesn’t froth like popular commercial brands. It’s a dull darkish purple color but despite its look, it is not abrasive nor gritty feeling like certain other natural-ish toothpastes. This toothpaste comes in small tubes of 2.5 oz. My grocery store toothpaste is 6.4 oz to give you a comparison. I was happy to see that along with the vitamin C and E, there is hydroxyapatite in the ingredient list. The FDA does not clear non-fluoride toothpastes for cavity-reduction/tooth re-mineralization, so whether or not to use something like this, which has hydroxyapatite and not fluoride, is a conversation for you and your dentist. You could also decide to do some research and read the studies if you are curious. What I can say is that I am very pleased with this toothpaste. In addition, I like that this is made in the USA, vegan, cruelty free, from a women-owned business, and a certified B corp. Read more
