This is the best phone mount I've come across. It holds my phone and never slips. I have an aftermarket head unit and needed something that would fit inside tha narrow opening. I used the adhesive that came with it and haven't had a problem yet, but will see how it handles the summer heat. Since it's in the head unit housing, there's not a whole lot of mobility, but the ball and socket enables more freedom than anything else can. I would definitely recommend this for the quality and the ability to change parts out as needed for future use (like a longer arm or additional joints). Read more

Great product. Holds securely. Got 2 for phone and iPod. Easy to install. Heed cleaning process to insure successful adhesion the first time. Be sure to get correct 'holder size for your application'. Regular holder works great for Galaxy S3 or iPod 5th gen. But if you have oversize phone like iPhone 6 plus, large Galaxy phone they have a bigger holder for it. The larger fits your larger phone better! Read more

Bolted mount plate to the instrument cluster - didn't use the adhesives. Still pretty bouncy on rough surface but on tarmac works great. If I did again I think I would try handlebar clamp. Good solid RAM product that works as advertised. Happy with purchase. Read more

worth every dime. sturdy, well built not like cheaper plastic versions. my dash is slightly curved with a pebble finish so the adhesion isn't great but I added some super glue gel and even when it's hot in the truck it stays. perfectly adjustable. holds the phone very firm even on rough roads Read more

I have used RAM Mounts' X-grip mounts for phones on motorcycles for years, and was very happy with them. However, the Flex Adhesive Mount is essentially a worthless product. The problem isn't with the X-grip cradle or ball-joint arms, which are identical to those in RAM's other products and are excellent. It's the flex-base. What happened was as follows: I bought the product from Amazon 15 months ago. I mounted it in my car exactly per instructions, in a location that looks exactly like the one in the Amazon picture (on top of the dash above a vent), which is also on RAM's website's product page. Note that I bought the product expressly based on the picture -- my car doesn't really have any other suitable mounting locations, given that that every single surface that isn't instruments is covered with soft plastic, where the various other bases, attached using bolts, RAM has wouldn't work. The flex-base started peeling off the dash after 5 hours of driving (over 2-3 days) with a phone in the cradle. The phone's weight (incl. case) is 180g / ~6oz, so clearly below the spec for the X-grip. I also didn't add any extension arms (which might act as fulcrum). I live in Israel, where the climate is like Southern California, so yes, warm, but not the Sahara, and any product which is designed for car use should be able to deal with this. I immediately contacted RAM Customer Support. They gave it a lot of thought, but given the lack of other mounting locations, the only suggestion they has was gluing the flex-base permanently in place using a strong adhesive. I wasn't ecstatic about this (presumably it would be impossible to remove the base without damaging the dash surface), but if it worked, I was OK with it _ASSUMING_ it would keep working for many years. Over 3 months and dozens of email & phone calls with ARM Support (!!), I tried several adhesives -- not all are easy or cheap to find here, and eventually, after several held in place only a couple of days, a year ago, Gorilla Glue worked. The base held on fine, and I tohught that was it... ...Until several days ago, I noticed the phone was jiggling while driving. Close examination yields that the problem isn't the cradle itself, or the arms/ball joints: While the flex-base is still glued on strongly to the dash, the flex-base's ball post has started coming out though the base's rubber surface (see the attached pic, which was taken from the direction of the windshield). It is obvious that very soon it will come out completely, leaving an ugly but useless flex base and myself with no reasonable mounting position. Given the car is only driven 2-3 times a week, about an hour at a time, and the phone is in the mount about half that time, this is unacceptable. I will now contact RAM's Customer Support again, and demand that they send me another type of base, probably the The RAP-B-202U, Ram Mount 2.5-Inch Composite Round Base with the AMPs Hole Pattern and 1-Inch Ball for free; I'll then try and dissolve the Gorilla glue to remove the flex-base, hopefully not completely messing up the dahs in the process, and then glue the new base instead. (I will update after I hear form them). To everyone reading this, do yourself a favor, and stay away from this mount in the first place. Other RAM products are fine. Read more

I have been using this mount for almost a full year. What can I say other than this is an EXCELLENT phone mount. I have a 2010 Honda Civic and the dashboard does not lend itself well for mounting of most of the "typical" phone holders and I don't like to mount to the windshield. I was able to stick this where I wanted it and with the double knuckle adjustment I positioned the phone where I wanted it. At first I thought he "X" grabbers would be awkward to use but with in a few days of use I was able to quickly place and remove my phone without hassle. What a great solution! The "X" grabbers allow cables to connect to the bottom of the phone with no special mounting hardware like other phone holders. They will also hold several different sizes of phones with no adjustment necessary. The fastening adhesive is still in good condition. GOOD JOB RAM Flex! Read more

The adhesive base part was missing one crucial element, adhesion. It was remarkably poor at sticking to my dash. There was a small stick of some type of glue that came with kit, however the included instructions offered no mention of the glue. Save yourself the money and just order the drill down base and skip the non-stick adhesive base step all together. The other part of this kit worked pretty well as expected. Read more

I have had my Ram for years now and absolutely love it!!! I did have to replace the adhesive on the bottom once in all the time that Iβve owned it, but, in all fairness itβs sitting on the dashboard with extreme heat hitting it constantly. I would recommend this to anyone as itβs a great product. Read more
