This is a very nice little backpack to use as a personal item on a plane. It will easily fit under the seat, and the suitcase style opening makes it really easy to pack for a weekend trip. I think I could do a 3 night trip with just this bag if I was packing light and wanting to avoid baggage fees. I also appreciate the padded laptop/electronic sleeve in the back compartment. There are plenty of pockets to organize your stuff. The fabric and zippers seem durable, the straps are comfortable, and there's a good sized water bottle pocket. Excellent First Impressions – Smart, Well-Designed Travel Backpack I just received this backpack, and I’m really impressed with the design and layout right out of the box. The smooth exterior looks great and feels easy to wipe clean. The zippers have long pulls that move smoothly, and there are tons of pockets and storage options throughout. There are two large main compartments for clothing, and one of them even has straps inside to secure everything, which is a nice touch. It also has a separate area for toiletries and a wet pocket — really thoughtful for travel use. The side straps let you tighten things up nicely, and it even has a luggage strap that slides over a suitcase handle, which I love. There’s also a side pocket for a water bottle, plus handles on both the top and side for easy carrying. The shoulder straps are fully adjustable and feel well-padded. This is a well thought out, nicely made backpack. It is unusual to find a clamshell design on a backpack of this size and price, and it is very convenient to be able to completely open up the main compartment. It makes it easy to pack and organize your stuff. I also appreciate the completely separate laptop compartment. It is also unusual for a backpack at this price to have top, side and luggage handles, in addition to the usual straps. There are many pockets on this backpack, including a waterproof pocket for wet items. A nice touch.
