For a price less than buying just the 8 AA batteries, this includes one of the coolest chargers I've ever seen. Charger holds 8 AA lithium ion batteries and when the lid is closed, 8 green lights indicate the charging status. Flashing while charging, solid when full. And the charger makes a great storage container, too. Read more

So far these batteries seems to be doing well. Haven't had to recharge them yet. Too soon to know how long the charges last but they are being used outside in 30 degree temperatures in outside cameras. Read more

Like many people, I am concerned with how much waste we place into our municipal landfills every year. With so many battery-operated devices in our home, I wanted to give this rechargeable battery system a try. Testing: After fully charging all eight batteries, I took two of them and use each one in a wireless keyboard and mouse that I was testing. During this test, I left each of the devices turned for three weeks and relied on each device to go to sleep if they hadn't been used for some time. I'm happy to report that these batteries had no issues for this reasonable, but rather short test. After leaving the remaining six batteries in a full-charge state, stored in the battery charging case, but not plugged into a USB charger, for about three weeks, I wanted to plug the case in and see how many green LEDs were still fully lit. Five of the batteries had green blinking lights (meaning they were currently charging), while the sixth battery was steady green (meaning it was already fully charged). I then opened the case lid, added the remaining two batteries which I had used for testing the wireless keyboard and mouse I mentioned above. After closing the case, the first six batteries all had blinking green LEDs. What happened to the one battery that it thought was fully charged? This inconsistent charging state doesn't give me a lot of confidence. The two batteries from my keyboard & mouse test did result in blinking green LEDs, but I expected that due to the fact that I had used some of the capacity of each of the two batteries. As expected, eventually all eight batteries showed a steady green LED. The short test above left me with a bad feeling. If I were using alkaline batteries, they usually have a pretty long shelf life of up to ten years. This test showed that I can't go three weeks without needing to top off the six unused batteries that were simply being stored for emergency use. I probably cannot count on these to use them in emergency equipment such as an emergency weather radio or handheld communicator. I'm also unsure whether I can trust the lifetime of each battery if I just keep the charging case constantly plugged in so that the batteries are always at 100% in case I need them for an emergency. My recommendation: For light use (such as keyboards, mice, low-current flashlights, or remote temperature & humidity sensors) this battery charging system will probably be OK. For high-current devices or for devices need in an emergency (storms, earthquakes, etc.) I would rely on good ole alkaline batteries. Pros: a) Cuts down on waste and your carbon footprint. b) Unlike traditional alkaline batteries, these rechargeable batteries shouldn't leak. Cons: a) Batteries discharge while sitting idle in box over 3 weeks. Read more

I’ve always loved using rechargeable batteries, and this set really stands out! Each battery has its own charge percentage light (green for good, blinking green for charging, red for dead), which makes it SO easy to check the status at a glance—no guessing or swapping required. They’ve worked great so far, especially in high-use items like our Blink Outdoor Cameras. I’m really happy with the performance and ease of use. Now I just need to grab a set of AAA! Read more
