This RED by KISS Styling Set includes a 0.3” Ceramic Tourmaline Pencil Flat Iron and 1/4” Extra Small Curling Iron, plus a box of Slide-in Hair Clips (80pc). Neither includes a heat resistant glove. These are super skinny hot tools so the size is best for short hair. I wouldn’t expect to get beachy waves or curls with such small sizes. These tools work in that they heat up quickly and give a decent grip, but these are very basic and are poorly designed for my use, especially the fiat iron, in that they don’t display temperatures and lack adequate heat settings for my needs. The flat iron only has an on/off switch yet it’s supposed to heat to 450 degrees (no way for me to verify the heat). I have fine, fragile hair and risk breakage and damage if I don’t stay around 300 degrees. I plugged it in and know it heats up, but I can’t test it on my hair as the risk of damage is too high. Assuming it heats to the stated 450 degrees, it may suit some with coarse, thick, healthy hair. But I wouldn’t risk getting one unless I already knew my hair needed high heat and wouldn’t get thrashed from it. The curling iron has low and high switches, and the manual gives stated heat ranges (posted). My hair is resistant to curl or body yet parts of it are really fragile, so I need to use the lowest setting that allows my hair to hold curl or body. I can’t adjust like that with this iron and have to use the low setting. The barrel gets hot on low, and I get some bend into my bangs and some shorter layers. I tried to get skinny spirals on my medium long strands, but found it difficult to unroll the iron from my fine hair and ended up with frizzy ends and no curl where my hair is heavier. The build quality seems on the lower end as compared to even my modestly priced hot tools. The build feels like mostly lightweight plastic. I was surprised the curling iron stay positioned on the stand and it kept the hot barrel off the counter. These tools just don’t meet my needs well (flat iron not at all), though they may be fine and even a decent value if used to style short wigs (can’t say for sure) or to style short coarse, thick hair that can withstand high heat or doesn’t require varied heat settings Just okay at best. 3 stars. This set is a game changer for edges and pixie cuts. The flat iron is amazing, it works very well. It heats up fast and straightens hair with one pass. It’s perfect for doing fluffy edges. The small curling iron is well made, and it works great. I’ve only used the curling iron once and it was to help my sister add volume to her pixie cut, and it worked great for that. Both tools are well made, and feel durable. They’re small and compact so they’re great for traveling. Read more

Like many of us, I am making a conscious effort to save money, which includes doing my own hair. Because I am doing my own hair, ensuring I have the tools to do so is important. I’ve been obsessed with wigs lately and this set came in handy yesterday! While I was initially concerned at how small/thin the curler and flat iron are, they are the perfect size if you want to curl your baby hair, etc. I am not a baby hair person, but have seen some cute ones on other people, but the small/mini flat iron came in handy! I used it to lightly bump my bangs earlier today and they were the PERFECT SIZE for the job. Keep in mind that they heat up pretty quickly, so don’t keep touching the plates or you will burn your fingers. There doesn’t seem to be a heat setting/knob that you can adjust the temperature, so be mindful of that. Whatever the setting Is on, it’s on. I’ve also used the clips several times! They keep your hair pulled or pushed in whatever direction you need them in and it’s such a steal to get soooo many clips with this set! All in all, I am thoroughly impressed. I haven’t used the mini curling iron just yet, but anticipate it being just as amazing. Read more
