Reef Mens Blackball Hat

Pretty lightweight for a hat. That's nice because it's breathable, but it's pretty fragile. If you were to accidentally sit or step on this hat, it wouldn't fare well. As far as looks go, I'm torn. I do think it looks fairly nice overall, very eye-catching (the colors are super bright, other than the logo). I think it fits my 'style' (if you could call it that....I feel comfortable wearing it, anyway). But I have to say I am not a fan of the branding on this hat. The dark green over the VERY white background makes it pop out considerably. So if you are a fan of the brand I guess this wouldn't be a problem for you. Overall, it's fine. It's a decently priced hat. If you want it because you like the look, go for it, there's really no surprises here. If you want it because it won't absorb a lot of sunlight (the white version, anyway), go for it. This hat exceeded my expectations. The material feels high quality and sturdy without being stiff, and the stitching is really well done. The white color is clean and crisp, and the yellow rope detail adds the perfect pop without being over the top. The embroidered logo is sharp and raised adding a nice extra touch. Fit is comfortable and adjustable, with a structured front that holds its shape well. It sits great on the head and isn’t hot on sunny days. The mesh allows for plenty of airflow. I’ve worn it for long periods and it stays comfortable the whole time. Overall, this is a really solid hat that looks even better in person. I usually prefer a curved bill and 6 panels on my caps, but I wanted to try this Reef Mens Blackball Hat in Bright White. It arrived in good condition with a shape-protecting piece of cardboard on the inside of the front panel. I like the style elements like the stitching and details like the yellow cord rope at the juncture of the top of the cap and visor. The bill is thick and has some padding. The bill is designed to lay flat, but I was able to curve it slightly. Still, it will always be a mostly flat billed, 5-panel cap that is mid-crown just as the product photos show. As for the sizing: I'm a woman who usually wears a Small-Medium hat size, and the cap fits well adjusted to the last hole setting. So even though the cap is one-size-fits-all, it might actually be too large for heads smaller than 21 inches in circumference. Overall, the cap is comfortable, breathable, and is made well with quality materials that feel durable. But I'm deducting a star because I think it's priced a little high. Read more

This hat is awesome, one of the best I've even seen. I like that it is a deep fitting hat. I want my cap to stay on in the wind, even when riding my motorcycle, and this hat does that. The back of the hat is mesh, not solid, so I don't get a sweaty head in warm weather like I do with most hats. Reef is know for making quality products and this one very high quality as well. With this hat, I understand one thing that every hat is not suitable for everybody, neither this is the hat for me since it’s very flat and it does not look good on me. The color of the hat is good but you cannot wear it with any clothes. It looks really funky on me. The quality of the cap is above average it is breathable, but again when you don’t like other things doesn’t matter much. It came with a good packaging and they have kept it pretty nicely so that it does not have any wear and tear while transportation. Read more

This is a quality constructed hat from a quality surf and lifestyle brand. The hat fit my head perfectly. Some other reviewers complained about the sides flaring out when put on, but that is only when the back snap strap is set too loose. The hat main panel is constructed with a foam style polyester material. This might not be everyones favorite, so just be aware of that. I got the white color and it looks great and has nice details like a brim rope, thick embroidered logo, and a nice side flag patch detail. It is soft and super comfortable. It is a little pricey for a hat. But, Reef is a premium brand and the hat is made with quality and a nice design. Read more

What a nice little flat bill cap. I really like those perforations, and white color for those hot, sunny days. The logo is nicely done, and that cord is a really neat design choice. I don't mind a lower profile at all, and I think it fits well, and looks great. Read more

The hat looks good and the quality seems solid, but the fit is a bit wider than expected. It sits looser on the sides and doesn’t feel as snug as other hats I own. Still wearable and stylish, just not the best fit if you have a narrower head. Read more
