This is a fun little lighter! The design is very reminiscent of a pocket watch. It feels like it is made out of good quality materials. It comes with extra wicks and strikers, which is a bonus. It is made of metal so a bit heavy if you are used to the lightweight plastic lighters. It is easy to fill. I think the only complaint is the fire douser (if that is the correct term). I’ve seen another lighter very similar to this one that used a mechanism to douse the flame, with this lighter you have to put your fingers close to the flame. Read more
I really like this lighter by Thorens. This has to be one of the most unique lighters that I've ever seen and I'm pleased to have it added to my collection. This lighter is made of very good quality materials and it seems like it's designed to last a lifetime. I like that it is designed in such a way that you can completely disassemble it and repair anything on it if needed. Another reviewer mistook the cap for a snuffer, and maybe it is, but its primary purpose is to seal everything up so the fluid doesn't leak out, or evaporate out if stored long-term. This fixes a problem that many lighters have, in that they allow the fluid to evaporate out when stored. This might not be the most practical design for a lighter, but it is fun to look at, and is very unique, and I really like the novelty of it. This certainly isn't a cheap lighter price-wise, but I don't mind paying for a quality product that is designed to last for a lifetime of use. Read more
