To be fair, I'm not a water filtration expert, nor am I regularly testing my water for Ph balance, chemicals, lead, etc. (You can purchase water testing kits online and I believe some retail stores) However, refrigerator filters can be very expensive and depending on how much you use your filter, will greatly determine how often you replace it. The warning light on your fridge is set to time, not use...so keep that in mind. My family uses the water from the fridge daily, so we tend to go through them quickly. I think every 4 months or so we try to replace them (This could be due in part to careful marketing from fridge/filter manufacturers). Back to the review. I really dont have much content to add except that for the price of one filter at a retail store, you get three here. Great Value! Also, I have not noticed any taste difference...so I assume the filter is doing its job as designed. I gave 4 stars because every once in a while, the water spurts or hiccups (as if air is still trapped in the filter or the line), the fridge is brand new and the factory filter never did this. This spurt or hiccup (best way I can describe it) is only an inconvenience because when it happens, it tends to spray water away from the stream, making a small water mess for me to clean up...With all that said, for what its worth, I recommend this product and I have no reason to not buy from them again. We just installed the third filter into the fridge. The installation/ uninstall isn’t too hard to do but whenever we take out the old filter we need to use pliers for a better grip. Other than that I think the filter does a great job. We haven’t had any problems with it leaking. I will say though if you don’t drain the water out completely there will be water coming out of the filter as you uninstall. The whole process of draining, replacing the filter, turning the water back on is maybe 5-10 mins depending on how much water you gotta get out of the line. Read more

This replacement filter fits our older refrigerator just fine. I only wish it didn't take so much water to get it properly installed but I think all fridge replacement filters work that way. I'm glad this model is still available. Read more
