Works better than expected regarding line of sight. Bought this after considerable research to control electric candle lights in the windows of two bedrooms, living room, office and detached garage; spanning about 100 feet. My greatest skepticism was ability operate through the walls, furnishings and insulation of the room, especially exterior walls to the garage. So much so, I didn't expect it to operate in the farthest bedroom and the garage. To my extreme satisfaction and amazement ... Installation is as easy as plugging the receiver into a wall outlet or extension cord (the size fits with no obstruction to the other outlet); all five receivers are preprogrammed to operate using the "All" on-off button on the remote which is convenient for my purpose; and most importantly it operates all the rooms and garage! Wowie, Wow, Wow! The size of the remote is easy to operate and handle. I can't speak to battery life, but it comes with batteries and the battery strength is strong enough to send the RF signal across this span of rooms. Read more

I agree with Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm) outlets should be installed 3 feet off the ground so they're not hard to get to. I've been paralyzed and in a wheelchair since a 1992 train accident. These are SO helpful! Being able to turn everything on/off with a remote is so much easier than getting out of bed to turn on my fan or the small lamp I keep in my bedroom. I also use them for my air cleaner and a small space heater that I also bought on Amazon (I buy everything on Amazon!) as I live in Florida and yes, it does get chilly but not enough to turn the house heat on (I've never used the central house heater here the a/c is on 365 days a year). I also bought a set for my father who was in his 70s. I just put velcro on the remote and on his wall so he didn't lose it and it worked great for him too. You'll find reasons to use them. This thing works, control 3 outlets using a convenient remote control. The remote is obvious, you won't get confused using it. Or you shouldn't. The price is right. It doesn't connect to blue tooth, and there is no phone app. If you need to open a phone app every time you want to switch an outlet off or on--that just seems to be too much trouble. I’ve had similar that did not perform nearly as well. The range is outstanding. No problem with working through walls from one side of the house to the other.
