These are the ones you want if you want to reflash them to tasmota or esphome. I've got a batch of them and they all work fine after reflashing. Will probably buy more. It's also great as simply an energy meter to test things, IMO FAR better than a Killawatt, as it can log and it's not something you either have to watch or remember. Read more
These are the best smart switches out there. Why? They use an ESP32-8266 processor and they have easily-accessed programming leads. Sure, you could use them directly out-of-the-box. They're probably good for that. But if you're really into smart home, why not get your hands dirty and re-flash them? There are plenty of guides online. Then you can run them directly over your home network. No more security problems since they're not connecting over the Internet. No more privacy problems since you control the device. Also, they react instantaneously, compared to the 1-2 seconds my other, Internet-connected smart switches take to react. Anyway, what do you have to lose? $8? Consider it a learning experience! And SONOFF, this review is to remind you why your customers love you. As far as I'm concerned, I'd be even happier if you mailed these products with externally-exposed tx/rx pins so I didn't even have to open the case! Read more
There's a trial period? Don't buy the outlet plugs. I checked on my plants and they were dying, wilted, bent stem, leaves turned yellow. I have no clue how long the light was out because there was no warning I couldn't use the plug timer anymore. Scam. Ruined plants I've had kept alive for years. All the time and energy lost because of it's stupid eWelink app. So mad. Read more
I have a dozen of these and use them to control dumb devices and energy monitoring. They're great for the price. I flash them with Tasmota or ESPHome firmware and they're flawless. It's a little extra work, but totally worth it. Highly recommended! Read more
