This is a handy little, inexpensive kit to have on hand during those times when you need to replace a HDMI port or USB port. The wick that it comes with is okay, and I don’t completely understand the inclusion of the screwdriver, but having an extra tool isn’t a bad thing. The amount of wick included is very small - 1.5M, but should be enough for HDMI or USB replacement. The most useful parts are having the USB and HDMI ports on hand. I used the HDMI part of the kit and it worked flawlessly. I expect the USB port to work just as well. Happy with the kit, and for the price it’s a good one to have on hand. Read more
This is the right replacement HDMI port for a PS5. The included USB port is a nice touch but unnecessary as most folks will have one broken port to fix so would be nice to save on paying for an extra port you don't necessarily need. I'm not a fan of the included solder wick. Super skinny and impregnated with cheap flux. Use a proper solder wick or add plenty of good flux for a cleanup as the traces are super sensitive. Was able to swap out the port no problem. Hot air is a must for removal. Ground plane is huge, expect to use a lot of hot air. Replacement is finicky, had to use a combination of a chisel tip and a narrow J-tip to clear bridges. Not a beginner friendly repair AT ALL, but doable with a bit of experience and the right toolkit.
