I have been using the oil be toothbrush with the round brush head for many years, but have always been intrigued by the electric toothbrushes with the more standard brush head. These brush heads have given me the opportunity to see what “the other side“ is like. I was pleasantly surprised. These brush heads fit on the standard or will be handle. They do not fit on the new iO handles. I find the best way to install. This toothbrush is by pushing down from the top. To remove, I pull up from the bottom. This brush head is obviously larger than the standard round brush head. Note that this does not require more toothpaste; you should still use the recommended pea sized dollop of toothpaste. The motion of a toothbrush is obviously different, and covers more teeth then the round brush head, which is a tooth by tooth process. The timer on the power handle works the same, giving you the same 30 second increments for brushing each quadrant. For those who have a travel case, this brushhead is Longer than the standard round brush heads and may not fit in your existing travel case. However, each brush head comes with a cover. For those who share a brush handle, these brush heads, do not come with a separate color band to identify each individual brushhead. If you will be sharing the handle, consider saving the colored band from your round brush heads. I have no means of testing to different brush heads to see, which may be better. Whichever brushhead is more comfortable for you, and which makes your mouth feel cleaner, is the right brush head for you. I personally like both style brush heads and use them interchangeably brushing should be fun, and this just adds a bit of variety. Read more

The Boheye’s Oral-B toothbrush head replacement are sold in packs of 4, with each brush head sealed in plastic, with a plastic and contained in a clear plastic box with instructions on how to correctly install the brush head. The cost is currently $2.50 per head while on sale which is between 2x to 5x the cost other generic brush heads. This is a steep price when purchasing generic brush heads but at half the price of OEM brush heads it’s a bargain. The first thing you will notice is the brush heads are not round or oblong but are shaped closer to normal brush head and is actually very close to the shape of the Sonicare brush heads. The motion of the heads are also more similar to Sonicare than Oral-B using a sweeping motion rather than the rotating head. However, the motion is not as fast and constrained as the Sonicare but rather a slower broader sweep. The bristles are also medium to firm rather than the soft bristles recommended by dentists. Personally, I enjoy a firmer bristle because I think it does a better job of cleaning and this brush head is no different. I’ve used Oral-B, Sonicare, Hummm, etc. and this brush head is different from all the others in its feel and motion. I actually enjoyed using it but if I were to make a change it would be to narrow the sweep field. As for durability, if it’s like the other generic brush heads they should last about 2-months and by the the look of the bristle I expect it to last about the same length of time. In short, the brush heads work as advertised and if you are wanting an alternative to the rotating brush head this my be the answer. Read more

This is a type of elongated toothbrush head for the Oral B electric toothbrush. It doesn’t look like any head that I’ve seen. It’s elongated, like a regular toothbrush head, rather than the smaller rotating brush that’s more common. I usually use the original style original dual-clean model, which is the round rotating brush, along with a side sweeping brush closer to the stem. The toothbrush head comes with a plastic head cover. This head works by swaying the brushes left and right - there’s no circular motion. This is a pack of four heads, and there are basic instructions on the box for how to insert the head onto the shank of the electric toothbrush. The fit is firm and snug initially, however loses its grip on the shank over time, which is a drawback. The bristles seem to be of reasonable quality, and are soft, and contoured like a toothbrush (i.e. not flat like a regular broom). I prefer my original dual-clean brush for several reasons - it’s bigger, it brushes in two ways (rotate and sweep) vs just sweep, and the shank is thicker (this one is thinner, meaning it doesn’t hold in my holder clip). However this is still a decent quality product, and not everyone prefers a big brush head. It’s worth a try. Read more
