I would imagine any bad reviews are due to the fact it is very thick and sticky. I love this about it. It is long lasting and hydrating. It plumps with no burn. Its a sleep mask and everyday. It will LITERALLY CURE CHAPPED LIPS in just an hour or so. It prevents chapped lips when used very consistently in the winter. I live in a cold climate and this is an absolute necessity for me in the winter but I also use it year round. It makes every other lip gloss feel cheap to me. I was not expecting this stuff to live up to its reputation, but it actually does get rid of the dry lines on my lips, for a while. Applying at night only is not enough, the problem with reapplying during the day is that it is EXTREMELY sticky. And everything sticks to it-lint, cat hair, dandelion fluff-whatever is in the air. So that is the reason for only 4 stars. Update-I have had very bad chapped and peeling lips due to snowy cold weather, this stuff healed them OVERNIGHT! I like this gloss, it is very hydrating and a good value for the money. It stays on very well and adds a nice sheen to the lips. It is slightly sticky so if you prefer a non sticky or heavy gloss this may not be right for you. I have had this in my cart and in my favorites just waiting. Why did I wait?! My lips and face recently have been horrible! This winter is so dry.
